What was your greatest high school athletic or academic achievement?

Featured Replies

Hard one for me to answer, because there's not much to brag about in either category. But I guess I'll go with throwing a no-hitter in baseball.

How about you?

Caught the winning TD in a game.

Finished 12 of 247 academically(and underachieved a bit).

A no-no is strong.

Had no athletic achievements. :lol2:

I'll go with doing well enough academically that I was able to get paid roughly $4k a year to go to college.

It is to an extent, but I left out the details. We were significantly better than St. Patrick & it was a 5-inning no-hitter because we short-gamed them.

1. Never undersell a no-hitter.

2. I've never heard "short-gamed them."

My first semester at NKU (fall of 1981) was about $350 for full-time.

Oh, I know what you meant. Just never heard that term. As UKMF said we always use "run-ruled."

The correct terminology is "run-ruled"...:lol2:

Gotcha.

That's probably my church softball lingo coming out. We always called it short-gamed.

Nice. I actually got more my first year, because I got a scholarship through P&G that paid me about $3,000 my first year since I had no tuition.
