Saw Barnes throwing shot at the state meet last weekend. Very impressive to say the least. I can see him being extremely difficult to bring down.

Last year they played Bardstown Bethlehem between Beechwood & NCC. Did they back out for this year? Holy Cross would've been traveling there

How are the Indians sizing up this year?

The offensive line is returning 4/5 people. Giving up 4 sacks the whole season and both backs rushing for 800+ yards

That is impressive but I think they need to have a lot tougher schedule to prepare them to make a run in the playoffs.

Which games would you replace?? Their non district schedule has two 4a school(Holmes and Scott), one of which (Scott) was a regional runner up last year and the other is a big local rivalry, Walton Verona, who won a playoff game, Beechwood, who was the 1a state runner up, and Taft, who is coming off a 7-3 season and beat HC last year. The district schedule is what it is, but still has NCC and Lloyd which won't be easy games.

 

Really, this is a pretty solid schedule, with no teams that are going to be easy wins. What else should they do?? What do you think their schedule should look like??

Walton is 2A, and has been a solid team, lost to HC last year, but hung 57 on them the year before. Holmes is a local rivalry and where HC plays most of their "home" games. And they compete with them for kids. It's a game you have to play. Plus Holmes has beaten HC two out of the last 3 years. Unless HC is beating them consistently, you can't say it's not a good game for them. I'll give you Bellevue as maybe a game they shouldn't play.

 

So one game out of 4 non district games may not be competitive based on history. It's a solid schedule that should provide plenty of good tests. And Beechwood, Taft, and Scott should all be really tough games, and Walton just a notch below. Throw in NCC and Lloyd, and you've got 6 really good games. They'll be plenty prepared. Every game doesn't have to be a huge test. You need a winnable game or two on your slate too
