May 10, 201610 yr We will be in a Severe Weather Alert mode today. Mainly because today's possible severe storms could last into the late night hours. The SPC now has almost all of Kentucky in a Slight Risk Area. While the tornado threat seems low at the moment for this afternoon it looks to increase some during the night time hours. The formation of possible super-cell severe thunderstorms will be with us most of the late afternoon into the night time hours also.The main threats look to be damaging winds, hail, cloud to ground lightning plus torrential downpours. After this mornings initial round of showers and possible thunderstorms the chance for severe weather looks to start to increase around mid-afternoon. It should peak around 8 pm. The Storm Prediction Center now has most of Kentucky in an Enhance Risk area for severe storms. The severe threat is increasing. Also the threat for tornadoes is on the rise. I will update whenever possible this afternoon. EVERYONE PLEASE STAY WEATHER AWARE THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING HOURS.
