Agree, dude has got some dynamic pipes.

I made a "Masterpiece" this morning. Flushed it just like I would a Queensrysche song if I could.

I was once an absolute Queensryche fanatic starting with their self titled EP.

I must have played their first two releases "The Warning" and "Rage for Order" until I wore out the grooves, and are the two albums of theirs that I can still rock out to today.

During this time of my life my favorite metal bands were Queensryche, Judas Priest, Accept, Dio, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, AC/DC, Krokus, Fates Warning, Metal Church, Crimson Glory, & Metallica, and a few others that I'm forgetting, or some not worthy enough to be mentioned with the ones that I have.

I dug how Mindcrime exposed corruption in its intense creepy way that made the hair stand up on your neck. I tried to memorize all the lyrics and recited them at will as if I was on a mission to change the world ...

"Seven years of power the corporation claw, the rich control the government, the media, that law, to make some kind of difference then everyone must know eradicate the fascist revolution will grow...

...the system we learn says we're equal under law but the streets are reality the weak and poor will fall, let's tip the power balance and tear down their crown, educate the masses, (I won't say the next line for it could put me in jail)"....

I never got to see them live until the Empire tour when they toured with Metallica. It was a great show, but somehow it was the beginning of the end for me with them.

I continued to buy their releases until their 1999 release Q2K, but was so burnt on them and into other sounds by that time that I never got very acquainted at all with much past Empire. What was once a voice that I praised to high heavens was a voice that was starting to get on my nerves. Perhaps I should try to spin the ones that I didn't listen much to to see what I think of them now in hindsight.

I did see them again on their Mindcrime II release at the Madison Theatre in Covington but recall being bored. I didn't buy Mindcrime II nor did I know enough about it to appreciate it live.

Though I fell off and away from them, the very mention of them brings back great memories of my late teens and early 20's of them being one of my top favorite bands at that time in my life.

This one will take you back to '83.

That sounds great and it's been far too long since I've heard it.

This thread is putting me in a Queensryche mood and I'm digging it.

Wish that I could find the entire concert video of their 1984 Tokyo show from early in their career, but here is a link that leads to the entire show in 10 videos in chronological order without pause.

My awesome guitar playing friend Joey and I must've watched this video a million times back then, and were always in a constant state of worship and awe at how fantastic Queensryche were.

They really were quite different than anything at the time, and it was exciting to feel apart of a new hot rockin' sound. We never knew that they were going to finally make it big with "Silent Lucidity", but we kept saying "Why isn't this band big?".

Love this one, from the soundtrack of the Andrew Dice Clay movie " The Adventures of Ford Fairlane ".

Lyrics:

Last time in Paris was a little strange,

Had time to myself,

Headed out to see the city sights.

Met a little thing on the Champs-Elysees,

Stole my heart away,

You know I never could pronounce her name.

She didn't mind at all.

We were sitting there,

Seemed like hours

Pass the day away,

Till they said we had to pay,

Or do the dishes or something,

I don't know.

Living at the plaza Athenee,

Got to rest for the show.

Man at the front desk knew my face.

Said he had a room with a view for two.

But he forgot to say,

Renovation next door starts today.

Can't find another room.

All day long they banged,

14 hours.

Show time on my mind,

And wringing somebody's throat,

Last time in Paris

Last time in Paris

Last time in Paris was strange

Last time in Paris

Last time in Paris

Last time in Paris was strange

Overslept, missed the bus to the show

Had to find my own ride.

Took the metro out to Avingnon.

Man at the backstage, didn't know my name.

Said hey, I'm with the band!

You and everyone today.

What is this guy new?

15 minutes fly,

Someone sees me.

Inside let me go

Hey Geoff, we need photos

Before the show!

Last time in Paris

Last time in Paris

Last time in Paris was strange

Last time in Paris

Last time in Paris

Last time in Paris was strange

Accept, Krokus and Queensryche. I'm glad I was already too old for this stuff to have been what I listened to in my formative years.
