May 3, 201610 yr No chance I believe they sell more beer in 3-4 months than Holy Grail at the Banks does all year. Maybe just canned beer or maybe it's KY only. I thought I saw someone say NKY. Someone needs to get us answers. :lol2:

May 3, 201610 yr Its smart, even if you forget cash they have ATM's on site where they make even more money on fees. Look, it's plain and simple. People who want to party will pay with whatever it takes. Nobody is going to walk away from a good time because they only take cash. You load your pockets and go enjoy the show. Last time I was there I was over served a few too many Fireballs. Atm fees are nothing compared to a 10 to 15 % jump in the gross tab when credit cards are available. Again he makes a ton of money so leaving money on the table may not be a big deal. If I had to guess he is a smart business man and this has more to do with the books. Most major bars have their own ATM machine or work out a deal where they get 50% of fee . But they still allow credit cards. It just doesn't make sense.

But the best reason to have a cash business today is you control reportable income. In the end if done right you are going to make more that way. I've dealt with cash businesses and every owner behind closed doors will tell you that.

Only if they are also buying beer from other outlets than the distributors. I have heard many times from a couple different distributors that they do unreal numbers of recorded beer sales. Hard to believe they would risk their business by buying their own beer elsewhere. Also, to my knowledge the bar and the owner don't brag about the beer sales as much as others do as evidenced by how much it is being stated in here.

May 12, 201610 yr Many moons ago, pre-Mrs. C1 we enjoyed getting a Wed. or Thurs. evening started at LBYC and then head to Mainstrasse later. Solid bar food and reasonable beer prices then... As for now we stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after a baseball game at Lemker and had a blast. Same solid bar food and reasonable prices 15 + years later. I'd be game to check out the rib dinner this summer. If you're not into crowds don't go Fri and Sat nights. I will say the Saturday mid afternoon vibe was quite pleasant! :thumb:
