The semantics doesn't make the idea of extending goverment sponsored education any less of an issue. Several states, including KY, are integrating the idea of community college for all. Why would they do this? High school isn't enough anymore. Those days are over just like the days when you could work without any education.

 

The article's math may be flawed and, yes, taxpayers pay for it making "free college" not free, but our young people will need more skills, or we will have the other side of under-education: poverty and crime.

I probably am. I often times feel people shouldn't be given free stuff just for breathing air. I tend to be a jerk like that sometimes.

I'm guessing that many vehemently oppose the notion of Kentucky granting free community college tuition to qualifying persons.

Define qualifying. Because they're breathing IMO doesn't constitute as qualifying. If you want to make it easier for kids to go to college give both parties involved plus loan offices and incentive to do so. Free is not the answer.

 

Please tell me how appealing to employers the college graduate with 40k in student loans(let's be real those aren't going away) and a C+/B- average are? Many of which have limited working skills because they've never really had to work for anything.
