Warren East at Monroe Co.

Perhaps, next year, after East beefs up its schedule, they will resemble the 2005 Wildcats who beat a total of 3 teams with a winning record, as opposed to the 1 that East beat in 2005.

In any case, they can congratulate themselves on "quality losses" that propel them into playoff shape as the better programs in the area do.

I realize the current staff at Warren East inherited the schedule they're now facing, but isn't it possible that a couple of "quality losses" would have helped the Raiders play more competitively with Franklin-Simpson and Paducah Tilghman later in the season?

East was very competitive with Paducah Tilghman. If I remember correctly, it was only 7-0 at the half.

Yes, they were competitive, but they still ended up with a 21-7 loss against a Tilghman team that was somewhat beat-up after getting routed by Hopkinsville. Could playing a tougher schedule have produced a different result?

One of those winning teams happened to be the Raiders...whom the Wildcats pounded 31-6.
