Greenup County is by far the better team, but poor coaching and base running by Beechwood. If BW wants to contend for the 9th region, changes will need to be made.

Wasn't at the game, but talked to a couple people who were there, and by all accounts, Greenup is the real deal.

Greenup was the real deal last year and they were young. With another year under their belt they are going to be a tough out this year..

Agree with you. Noonan's statement was extreme. Green up is a very strong team, but you are right, BW not only had the all A this week, they were in Louisville last weekend and played three games in really bad weather. Combs and Fieger weren't available to throw against Greenup County. Bankemper pitched 5 innings and Huseman closed. IMO Greenup County is definitely a very strong team, but not unbeatable. Their pitcher was really good, but BW had a few hits. There were some errors and Beechwood has definitely looked better this year. I think on a good day, BW has a shot at beating them and might just get a chance next weekend.

Roster on Riehards has 9 jrs., 3 sophs, and 3 fr. USA Today has them #1 in Ky. LexHerald had them #2. Real deal for sure, now 21-0 after losing to Highlands in state semi-final game. Went 33-11 last year after 1-7 start. 8 of those losses were to non-Ky teams.

 

Last week beat Rowan Co. 12-0, in front of 20 scouts that came to watch Rowan's ace. Not familiar with the player, but mercy rule had to be embarrassing.

They had to come back tonight to win a very tough road game against one of the better teams in West Virginia.

Yes , Same starters as last year, just a year older. There are 2 more Sr who DH some, witch would be starters on all other 16th Region teams. And Greenup`s #1 Triston Downing (Jr) didn't pitch any post season games last year. And is pitching really good. HE pitched the Beechwood game.

Thanks for the info. Curious about the roster inaccuracies on Riehards???? So, BW lost to Greenup's #1 by a score of 6-1, while they pitched their 3/4(?). Never know how spring pitching matchups coincide, with weather and 3 game round robbins. Hope the matchups this weekend give BW a chance to end the Musketeers' awesome streak.
