Open Job: Bullitt East

Featured Replies

Saw where Bob Blackburn has stepped down.

One of the better jobs in the area I would think.

Who's hearing what?

Lose a lot. But they may have been the deepest team in the state. It's a top level job. Louisville region without the JCPS circus.

I am under the impression that Bullitt County has pretty strong coaching staffs at all three schools. Wonder if they'll look within the county or try and bring someone in from the outside?

I think it will be wide open and attract coaches from across the state based on recent success. They lost a lot to graduation....but have been successful for quite some time now. Community support is VERY good----top notch job that should be highly sought after.

So you think they would be ok with a coach these next couple years when they are not as good as the last 10 years or so?

Expectations will still be high and possibly unrealistic from the outside. But principal and AD are both VERY sports minded. They will have more realistic expectations!

If the hiring was up to me I would contact Willie Feldaus.

Didn't they screw him over once already. By telling him he had the job Blackburn stayed and he was up here with no job for a year? Someone with a little more insight may be able to explain it better.

Coach Feldhaus lives in Mt. Washington, his kids go to BE, lives in the same neighborhood as AD Barr, but with all that said he isn't leaving Male.

I'd be surprised to see him leave Male, too. You can win the region at Bullitt East and you might be able to make a run at the state championship. At Male, if you can make a run at the region, then you definitely can win the state. And a school like Male should be knocking on the 7th Region door every year.

When you knock on that door gchs_uk9 just hope that Ballard, Trinity, ST. X, Manual and Eastern do not answer. Good district to be in at Male however. A lot easier to win the 6th than the 7th, and with they way Male does things now, will be even harder. But with that being said B.East crapped on him in my opinion and don't think he appreciated it at all. Do not blame him.

Very true. My point was, IF you can win the 7th Region you CAN win the state championship. And Male is a school that should consistently compete for the 7th Region championship.

Bullitt East can compete for the 6th Region championship, but I don't believe they can realistically expect many chances to win the state championship.

They competed this year and the 6th region champion played in the final, who I realistically thought was not as good as B.East. Both very good jobs with right person in place

Let me clarify from a previous post. Bullitt East is a very good job, in a very good community, with a very strong program, and plenty of potential. I think there will be a sizable number of high quality applicants for them to pick from.
