They won't be seeing a win with Paris or Harrison-

Paris has beef, strength, speed and determination- Too bad that Campbell Co and Rockcastle Co. will have gotten to them before Paris plays them. Paris wants them healthy when they go "across-town".:creepy:

 

Okay, easy Paris fan. I just listed those schools because they are either smaller in class than Bourbon or it was a home game. I know Bourbon is very down and have been down for some time. I was just trying to spot games that are "possible, if everything worked out perfectly" wins.

 

Also, don't question the knowledge of posters about other schools. Trust me: I would consider myself very knowledgeable about both Paris and Harrison. Garrard County (where I live) hosts Paris this week and we are well aware of their ability.

I am a fan of many schools... Paris just happens to be one of my favorites.

If Bourbon does win, it won't be against Harrison, The Breds will win that one by 35+

Not sure Bourbon will pick up a victory this year. Fundamentally, BCHS was awful last year. That's not a smack at the kids...but a direct shot at the previous coaching staff.

 

It'll take a couple of years to start righting the ship...but Massie should be able to do it.

I do believe that last years fundamentals started before that staff got there. I have heard that the previous coach before Dahlstrom did not allow Freshmen to come out. Supposedly he told them Freshmen wouldn't help him but sophomores would. Therefore, they were fighting getting the young kids interested again and teaching them the game. I am not saying it was the kids, nor the staff from last year but a combination of several aspects that went on for a couple of years. Best of luck to Rick and the young men at Bo Co. It's an uphill battle but anything worth having is.

If Bourbon County has improved drastically, you might could make a case for a couple wins. Perhaps Paris (at Bourbon), Western Hills (at Bourbon), Anderson (at Bourbon) and maybe a win at Harrison considering everybody is saying they have lost everything.

 

With that being said, I don't see any wins on the schedule for Bourbon County this season, which is unfortunate because I think they are a team that has improved tremendously.

Again, read what I wrote. I didn't say they would win four games this year. I listed the games they might have an outside chance of possibly winning if everything went perfect this season. I never said Bourbon would go 4-6 or win against the beloved Paris or Harrison teams, as some earlier posters have questioned. I'm not being GUTSY, I'm just stating best-case scenario possibilities. Relax.

Not to long ago Camels were in the same shape. Bourbon showed a lot of guts as was mentioned. Don't forget this has been a state championship school.

That was a whole different era of Football at BCHS... Dudley Hilton was the coach then... Biggest mistake BCHS ever made was letting or running off (depends on who you are talking to) Coach Hilton. Actually Hilton had a good thing going there for them not only for BCHS but for the community. If I am not mistaken he had their new fieldhouse built or he was responsible for seeing to it that it got built... Their loss is Bell Co's gain.... Unless something drastic happens over the next "several" years I don't see that ever happening again. (of course you should never say never)... Some wins are possible in the future...

Hilton is a great coach, there is no doubt about that! He brought a different attitude to BoCo football. It was the years that he was there that the HC-BC rivalry was at its greatest in the last couple of decades.

LOL yeah, they broke into the concession stand and took the thorobred... They would have gotten away with it, but they stood it up in the back of their pickup truck as they rode out of town. I believe that someone at McDonalds saw it and then called the cops...I think about 8 players were suspended and The Breds went on to beat BoCo 53-0 the next Friday... It would have been a great prank if they just had taken the back roads home...

 

Although, I believe that the glory days for Bourbon were between 96 to about 2000.

For Bourbon's district and other opponents, here are my thoughts:

 

Rockcastle, Lex Cath, Franklin, and East Jessamine can pretty much pick the score against Bourbon.

 

Bourbon won't be Paris. I saw them in a scrimmage and they will beat Bourbon by at least 3 TD's. They have size and athletes. They seemed to be out of shape pretty bad but if they work on that then they could be good.

 

Bourbon won't beat Harrison. They are coming off a loss to Boyle by only 2 TD's. Boyle may not have the firepower they once did but they are still a great/top/dominating 3A team.

 

Bourbon's best chance looks to be between Western Hills (which I know nothing about), Anderson County, and West Jessamine. Anderson is only going to get better under Mark Peach. I saw West Jess get killed last weekend but they had some decent players.
