It's all going to pot

 

I knew nothing about that until running across an article on the avclub website that showed the video. Very funny.

I spent several hours tonight plowing through the Hag's CD box set called "Down Every Road" which spanned his career up to 1994. Lots of cold chills. Made it to about 5 songs into Disc 4 and had to bow out. About 80 songs.

So yea this song has a lot of modern day meaning.

Merle was in prison in about 1959 when Johnny Cash did a show at the prison. Said it helped him focus on music and staying out of trouble while in prison.

I've always been about Waylon. It wasn't until he passed that I started listening to Merle. Boy was I missing out. What a talent. Regret that I never saw him in concert. Old country just about gone now.
