Who will be 11th Region contenders for 16-17?

Featured Replies

I agree that Scott Co is the favorite. I think Dunbar and LexCath are the next 2, probably in that order, but I could go either way with those two.

I'm wondering how the new high school in Georgetown opening in 2017 might affect the Cardinals' desire to win, knowing it will be this squads last year together.

The new school won't have any sports teams. The students at that school will still be playing for Scott County.

Did Jaelin Jenkins used to be at Scott Co? Any of those guys playing college ball?

He was at Scott Co. his freshman year. I don't have an answer to your second question. I hear Lane is a pretty good golfer though. That's probably what he'll do in college.

He won't play ball for Transy?

I think Scott County will be the team to beat and that the 11th Region will remain the toughest region in the state. It won't be easy for Scott County or any of the other top teams. Captain Obvious sentence right there. :lol2:

Possibly! I forget his dad coaches at Transy.

I think it is interesting that one of the biggest 6A schools in the state is overflowing with students and building a new school but won't have athletics at the new school. I am asking because I don't know but has this ever happened with a school this size and a community like this?

They claim that they don't have the resources to build a gym, baseball stadium, football stadium, etc.

I am aware of the excuse but I would have more respect for them if they just came out and said we don't want to water down our basketball and football. That would be like Jessamine saying we are now going to have East and West Jessamine but all the kids that go to East are all going to play for West and just have one team. Does Scott Co just think everyone is stupid?
