As of right now, KHSAA allows only the spring sports 36 games per season, should they up that to 40 games a season?

 

This is something I wish the KHSAA would do.

They need to move the Baseball season back as well. Baseball State tournament should be in mid June.

I think Iowa's goes into late July.

I think they should. I think 36 just isn't enough games. The majority of games usually gets rained out and not made up and teams can't find anyone to make a game up with so I think they should up the # of games to at least 40.

36 is plenty. They can schedule more than that to compensate for rainouts.

Ive always thought the 3rd week of June ish for State Championships. Allows plenty of time for makeup games for bad weather.

I think 36 is plenty. If you keep adding games it will cut off summer ball time which many families pay a lot of money for. Summer ball is also a big time for college scouts, so I would keep it the way it is at 36.

First practice should be March 1st. First game in last week of March. I think 36 games is too many. Many states play less than 30 regular season games, so I'd say 36 games is plenty. Cutting to 30 games allows the playoffs to get wrapped up at a reasonable time in early June, allowing for a full summer ball season. What would be the reason for needing 40+games....the regular season games really don't mean much anyway, since everyone makes the district tourney.

Season starts earlier and ends later.

Even those teams that WANT to play 36 can rarely get that many in. Basically schedule a game every day and DHs on SAT and with weather you are lucky to get 36 played. 3-5 yrs. ago we had great weather and there were teams dumping games to avoid going over 36, but that was the very rare exception.

36 is plenty. No way should there be any thought of playing more.

I agree with that. Some kids literally walk out of the gym into a baseball game.
