I can't believe no one has mentioned Whitney Creech.

Interested to know if you were being serious? sarcastic? or stirring the pot?

First one I remember was Donna Murphy. I'm a little older than most on here, though.

True story:

I attended the 2016 Miss and Mr. Basketball banquet and was seated at a table right next to the podium. Best seats in the house. I walk to my table and a lady and her mom are sitting there already. I introduce myself and the lady introduces herself to me as Donna Murphy and her mother. I say nice to meet you both and ask if there are any seats taken already. They say no so I grab the best seat I can get. As I sit down there is a huge plaque in the chair next to mine. On the plaque: The Donna Murphy Award.

I looked at the plaque and then at her and then did a double take and then I said, "wow, I didn't realize I was sitting with royalty." She said, "what makes you say that?" I said, "you have a trophy named after you. In my eyes you are royalty and I am honored to be sitting with you tonight."

Very very nice woman who is humble and it was a very cool moment to sit at her table and talk with her and watch her present her award to Emma Young from East Jessamine.

I'll never forget that moment.

Is Clemette Haskins of Warren Central worthy of consideration?

Nice story PP. I concur with Papa, LB and others. I saw her play and she was a total stud. Man against boys (pun intended) in HS...

I remember hearing about her during my grade school years. I had never seen her play before tonight via YouTube. I must say her highlights were very impressive. I know this thread isn't based on college achievements but she was a three time AA and led WKU to the final four. Do yourself a favor and watching two minute clip.

I watched her live as a kid. I used to think she was Michael Jordan.

Clemette was great and worthy of your consideration. She played in two Final Fours but the best player on those WKU teams was Lillie Mason from Olmstead (pre-Logan Co. consolidation)

I was meaning to research and see if Lillie Mason was from KY. I couldn't remember. When I was younger we would go watch the WKU women as much as the men but I remembered watching Clemette in high school as well as college. I remember watching Lillie Mason at WKU but I couldn't remember where she was from.

I agree. She was better than Clemette.
