It is amazing what eating peanut butter and drinking chocolate milk will do for helping add weight and muscle.

Right before bedtime if they are trying to gain weight.

Thanks for the Prop's for Parker. He gave up bball this year to work out and put on some size. Although I wanted him to continue to play bball to maintain athleticism, it was his choice. He has held up his end of the bargain so far by working out hard, ASAP 3 days a week, eating. Getting stornger, adding weight and getting faster. Ran a 4.82 for coaches at Ryle, then ran a 5.0 at Best of the midwest in Indy. I hate that he proved me wrong about giving up Bball : ) But one thing is for certain, although he performed will on the drill work in Indy, but was undersized at 260. The boy needs to eat more Peanut Butter : ) Again, its fun watching him and Colton Williams progress, since they played bball together as kids.

like..

Matthew Blank from Brossart is 270 at the least. Nice kid too.

Keegan Turner is 6'2 265 pounds and Kobe Maynard is 6'0 250 pounds. For only being a 2A team Lloyd has a lot of size.

Complete myth. Calories don't tell time, and don't care when you eat them. It's not when you eat, but how much and just as importantly, what you eat. Eating before bed CAN lead to overeating which is a bad thing. And gaining weight is not just about eating as many calories as you can.

If you have an active kid he will burn it off after words but not if he is sleeping.

Whatever you think works. All I know is my son gains 20 pounds every off season of football and its not fat he is solid.

Just trust me on this. Think about it.....weight gain occurs because of excess calories. Whether you take those excess calories in at noon, or 10pm, they are excess, regardless of when you are "active". And calorie conversion to weight gain, happens slowly anyway...it's not a process that occurs "overnight"

Again, it's not what I think.....it's what I know. The 20lbs your son gains, is not a result of him eating a peanut butter sandwich specifically before bedtime. He'd gain the same 20lbs whenever he ate that extra sandwich. In addition, your son is gaining weight, in large part due to the fact that he is still very young and growing.

Eating before bed can lead you to still feeling full in the morning, leading you to eat less for breakfast, and then going overboard for lunch, or feeling the need to snack throughout the day as well as causing disruptions to healthy sleep patterns. It's a bad eating habit, that can lead to future problems with obesity.

Ok, since we are on this topic, it's more about the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. During the day the sympathetic nervous system is the driving force but at night, the parasympathetic nervous system does things like allowing the body to digest food.

So, if you want to gain weight, eat a lot before you go to bed, don't sleep real well, get up every hour, then eat four times during the day and eat one more time before going to bed, then get up every hour so your body can't properly digest food. It's no secret that older people gain body fat, the lack of proper circadian cycle and slowed metabolism are the big reasons.
