I've officially given up on Showtime

After keeping this premium service for a couple of years specifically for Homeland and Shameless it's now gone.

Watched the first 2 episodes of Homeland this season and gave it up.

Made it for 3 episodes of Shameless before packing it in.

Now I'm just a Game of Thrones away from ditching HBO as well.

Really, I love shameless and think it continues to be great.

Also Billions is very good, and Ray Donovan is great as well.

As for HBO, I am not feeling Vinyl, and have never been into Girls.

I love the Duplas brothers so I keep watching Togetherness and Animals but they are weird.

I'm still hanging with Vinyl but I'm with you on not feeling it completely.

Never could stand the female in Girls. I do like their monthly sports show with Gumbel. They also have some good docs (Mavis Staples doc tonight). Never was a GOT fan. I don't watch as many series on HBO as I do SHO.

Do people really keep their subscriptions to the premium channels year-round?

Unless you've continuously got shows at all times of the year you watch, why would you not just subscribe when the shows you watch are airing and cancel after the fact?

We do, unfortunately. We have DirecTV and we get 3 premium channels for "free" for 6 months. Our 6-month deal expires in March, which is when I will call DirectTV again and ask for a lower price or cancel the premium channels.

SHO spreads out their series so that if you have enough series you like it's year-round viewing.

What happened to Billions last night. Why did they skip this week? I went home to watch on DVR and nothing.

Dont know for sure, but it's possible they didn't want to compete with the Academy Awards.

Masterpiece Theatre (Downton Abbey) on PBS did the same thing.
