Exactly. This strikes me as a "going out in a blaze, they'll never take me alive" moment. Not a "I hate the police and I am going to kill all of the police" moment.

 

Sadly, I think people wish there was a war on LEOs just so they can say there is a war on LEOs. All of these incidents seem more like troubled people with real issues and not people who are waging a war on LEOs.

There was a guy recently around here that knew the police were coming to arrest him and he vowed to be waiting and shoot as many as possible. He wasn't looking for suicide by cop, he was looking to shoot as many of them as he could before they could get him.

I think it is more about people having less of a regard for life, their own and other people's than it is about a premeditated war on LEOs.

It's the fact that any time they have to kill someone, even if it's obviously justified, there's a good chance of protests.

 

Heck, recently in Seattle a violent convicted felon was shot. His felonies included rape, assault and robbery.

 

Police saw him with a handgun, and went to arrest him. When they did, witnesses say he refused commands and reached for the gun before being shot. A gun was recovered along with heroin and cocaine.

 

The NAACP in Seattle already called it cold blooded murder. I believe BLM is protesting. Why? Why throw your support to a person like this? I understand asking for a full investigation, but to come out immediately in support of someone who by all accounts was a terrible person who refused to obey commands while holding a pistol and drugs...I don't understand that.

 

Also, I believe 11 police officers have died in the line of duty this year. I believe several had been killed before a recent debate and Bern was asked about it. Instead of answering the question, he took it as an opportunity to criticize police.

 

Hillary takes every chance she gets as well. Both are just trying to get more votes at the expense of law enforcement around the country.

Well he was a good man, he was turning his life around. He was going to college in the fall.

 

I feel BLM hands out a pamphlet to families with these talking points.

While I agree this likely isn't a War on Law Enforcement battle cry. I think he had plenty of time to make a run for it if he had enough time to ambush officers as well as he did. I don't know for certain, I wasn't there obviously but that's just my two cents.
