Paris 61 Montgomery County 53 (40th District Championship)

Featured Replies

Wow, not that shocking but for now, MoCo and the Royals get to play district winners. That is interesting. However, this region is maddening. I still think the Camels win it. ...but I would not bet a nickel they will.

Congrats to Paris on winning the 40th district.

Drawing for the regional tourney just got more interesting.

Garrard was money tonight. Hit a few big shots while MoCo was on a run. He was the best on the court tonight.

BUT PARIS PLAYED SENIORS FOR A WHOLE QUARTER ON SENIOR NIGHT!!!!

2016 40th District Champions ... Coach Terence Brooks and the Paris Greyhounds ... back to back! Yes sir ... #parispride @ourtime

Koebe Garrard had 29 points and 10 rebounds

Jekobi Wells had 13 points and 17 rebounds

Marcus Ashford had 11 points, 4 assists and 3 steals

Thanks. Do you know how Fuller and Walker played and I don't just mean points scored.

Fuller done his job as running his team, the defense just wasn't allowing him or the team many wide open looks.

For Montgomery ... Cody Parsley had 14 and Jerryd Jones 20! Fuller had 7 all in the first half!

Fuller went I think radio said 2-12 from the field. Wasn't bad shots, just one of them nights where shots didn't fall. Same for Walker, the shots didn't fall. Paris went I believe 8-10 from 3 pt line.

Mason and Montgomery could face each other first round. Ouch.

Can't play in the first round because both are District runners up.

Garrard was fantastic tonight. Played like the region player of the year.

Paris jumped out to a 21-6 lead, and despite the Indians making a run in the 3rd the Greyhounds held on to the lead.

Clark did a great job on Fuller to prevent him from really controlling the game. He had some nice passes, but Clark did a great job of keeping him out of the lane.

Combs picked up 2 fouls in the first couple minutes, and wasn't ever much of a factor. The Indians made an effort to get the ball inside, but it never translated into an inside out attack.

If Paris plays like they did in the first half I'm not sure there is a team in the region that can beat them. They really struggled in the 3rd which let Monthomery back into the game, but the Hounds did a great job closing strong in the 4th.
