Impressive win for the LadyCats!

Upset!

Wow!!! Great win for Newport!!!! Upset for sure.

Great win for Newport! Happy for their kids!

Can't help to feel bad for Davenport and the Breds.

But this is Newport's night! Congrats!

After losing to NewCath by 30 early in the year to losing to them late in the All A Classic to beating them in the Districts. One heck of a turn around!

This is unexpected! Tough for all A regional champs NCC and the lone senior, Davenport.

Very happy for seniors Kylie Orr , Shaunye Stanley and Star Yeager! They have been playing together forever. They've worked hard and stuck it out since middle school as Ladycats! Congratulations to them and Newport HS!

Watched half of the game and left because I thought ncc would wear them down and be a 10 point or more win.

But, did see some quick hands, break outs and good rebounding out of the cats.

If they work on ball skills they will be a contender. Pressure hurts them but they did well, good for them and way to fight.

Davenport is an athlete and if focused only on basketball would be better than any player I've seen. Still one of better ones in ky.

If refs let hands on D, (like what I saw tonight) cats will be in for a battle.

But... Cats really rebound and don't give up. Love it.

Good outlook for both programs.

This quite possibly could be the most bizarre, unusual, yet very entertaining game I've witnessed in a long time! Newport earned this one and it was fun to see the genuine excitement from their players, coaches, fans, & cheerleaders. Congrats to the Wildcats!

I agree from what I saw as well. Just wierd and think the region will be won just like this

Whoever has the want , not best talent may win

Looks like we get our softball players back a little sooner than expected.

I have to say I'm not too shocked by this. I watched Newport hold their own and almost beat Campbell County earlier this month and came away very impressed. Really liked what I saw from Kylie Orr.

Congrats to the Lady Cats!

Upset yes, Newport deserve to win this game, NCC had a 9 point lead in the 3rd and had a chance to put them away but when you turn the ball over and let them get back in it that's how you get beat. Good luck to the Ladycats and don't take them lightly.

I must say I'm shocked at this result for sure. I thought NCC would be one of those wild card teams if they could have made it to NKU next week. Congrats to Newport on the big win.

Best of luck to Ansley Davenport!
