Watusi Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Ray Ray as he is affectionately known around town had a good hear. A 3 year starter for Belfry at DT, Ray has made his mark on the Pirate program and is expected to see some quality offers come his way in the coming year. The Class of 2017 is a special class at Belfry, and they have a shot at being one of the very few elite teams to win 4 titles in a row. Here is Ray Ray's hudl video for Junior Year Highlights. Enjoy. According to the video, Ray had 85 tackles, 38 tackles for a loss, 5 forced fumbles and 12 sacks. Nice season for the young man. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3068042/highlights/319963375
Watusi Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 Horton doesn't have any official offers yet that I am aware of. He is on the radar for a few schools including UK, but nothing official. He looks pretty good in the Hilltopper uni though...
theguru Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I watched some of the video, special athlete. How tall is Ray Ray?
Cats3x Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Height is the only thing that keeps him from being an elite prospect. As good a DL as I've seen in KY. Truly unblockable. Exceptional player.
Watusi Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 Guru, I think Ray is listed at 6'2 on the roster, but I am not sure he is quite that tall. You are right, C3x, that stat will likely keep some recruiters from giving him serious consideration. Somebody is going to get a good deal on Mr. Horton.

He looks pretty good in the Hilltopper uni though... Tennessee Tech has offered... FCS in the OVC Most dominant DL I have seen in KY since Dennis Johnson. Kid has single handily taken over games on Defense.
Watusi Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 I would love to know Horton's weight lifting numbers. Back about midway the season a coach told me he was benching mid 400's multiple reps (I think he said 425, 8 reps but not sure) and was expecting to max out 500 lbs a week or two later. That is crazy numbers.
Watusi Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 Tennessee Tech has offered... FCS in the OVC Most dominant DL I have seen in KY since Dennis Johnson. Kid has single handily taken over games on Defense. That's right, I forgot about Tennessee Tech. Doh! Thanks, ATL.
DevilMayCare Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I agree @Watusi, that WKU jersey looks awfully good on him. How legit are his weight room numbers listed on Hudl? A 480 bench and 600 squat are eye popping numbers.
DevilMayCare Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Between Horton and Bentley, it's almost unfair what Belfry's got on the DL. They're both big and strong enough to the point that they're borderline immovable, yet quick and agile enough to chase down most QBs and RBs.
theguru Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Looks like he is going to have to carry more weight in college but he has definite D1 ability.
mexitucky Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 He is very good. He just needs to be a split second quicker off of the ball to be a player at the level that I think he can play at. Once he gets moving, he really gets moving. I just wonder why he seems a little slow at the snap.
Harry Doyle Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I agree @Watusi, that WKU jersey looks awfully good on him. How legit are his weight room numbers listed on Hudl? A 480 bench and 600 squat are eye popping numbers. Reminds me of Jeremy Caudill coming out of Prestonsburg HS in 2000. His numbers were similar. Now, what made Jeremy even more freakish was his speed. I remember the 2000 KY/TN All-Star game, and here he was on the kick off team. That WKU jersey looks really good on him. :thumb:
ATLCat Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Horton received his first FBS Offer today from Florida Atlantic
