Son. Yes, I am Carson's mom and while he and his family appreciate the support , he or his family have nothing to do with the recent threads about him. We don't know who the people are who are starting them. In fact I asked that the Larry Bird thread be removed because it just got out of hand and set him up for some criticism that he didn't ask for or deserve. I have quit looking at BGPS for the most part because it's just been too much but got a call about this thread and felt I should address it. I hope everyone remembers that just because something is posted about a player doesn't mean the player or his family have anything to do with it. Once again I appreciate the support that Carson receives, but would really prefer that he not be the subject of anymore of these type threads. Anyone who knows him knows that he is a quiet person and really doesn't like this kind of attention. Heck, I'm his mom and I've heard enough so I'm sure everyone else has too. Thanks and I don't plan to comment on this again.

It should come as no surprise I was coming here to say "hyped" only to see you on the same train.

Based on the comments I continue to see in this forum, I would say the one word the best describes Carson Williams is: Polarizing.

 

There are those who have seen him play and know just how good he is. And there are those who only see highlights or have not even seen him play at all and still make comments. It's divided an entire state it seems. Polarizing.

I think people DID NOT understand the point of the Larry Bird thread. It compared HIGH SCHOOL Larry Bird, who was A LONG WAY from the NBA. Larry Bird did not even get chosen into preseason scrimmages at IU while he was there (I will find that article. The IU upperclassmen thought he was an OK player, nothing more while he was there). For some reason, people took it to mean the NBA Larry Bird. Look, I saw Larry Bird in high school. NO ONE thought he would ever see an NBA court. NO ONE. Many questioned whether he could even play at IU. HE DID NOT. He left for various reasons. Sorry I even started that thread.

Here is the article that points out Larry Bird was not picked in pickup games in the preseason at IU during his time there in Bloomington.

I love Carson as much as any non Owen Countian can but don't count your chickens before they hatch. It will be close and it will be tight. If we're going to be all of the way honest the Larry Bird thread may have hurt him. I've seen some tweets mocking that thread and I have had more than one person say they are tired of the Carson Williams lovefest. I can see some voters having the same feeling. Me personally, I think people take things way too seriously these days and need to recognize the whole season he has had and the effect he has had on Owen County's successful season.

 

I think the politics for both Williams and Goodin is comical.

I started this thread because personally I do not believe that there has been a player in this state that has the work mentally & attitude of Carson, I believe he will be the hardest workers on the court at all times! He does so much much! No body you can compare him to in Kentucky! There is only one Carson Williams! I would put him up against anyone! NKU gotta steal ...
