bulldoglou Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Male was down 10 in the fourth quarter but rallied for the victory, lead by Alex Cook's 25 points, 20 of those coming in the second half.
two bad teams Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 As I have stated on prior threads, either the 7th is really competitive or really average, or both. I mean, if Male is your top Dog and Trinity #2, this is a down year for this Region. Male is struggling vs. lesser teams and Trinity just cannot handle the 11th region. I think they are ok, by no means bad, but certainly beatable. I like the 9th region champ to beat them in the opener this year at State.

bulldoglou Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I think it has to be, both have had great seasons. Both solid players, Male has had a better record and Cook has gotten more press.
Bluechipper14 Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Feldhaus getting it done. Look for Male to make a run. He can coach and he has solid players to make a move into the sweet 16

There is no super team this year in the 7th. Probably as many as 6 teams have a legitimate chance to win the region.
two bad teams Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Trinity is 4 I did not add up the wins but they have 3 losses to the 11th: Dunbar, Henry Clay, Madison Central.
Indiana Patrick Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 When you make the top play on sportscenter's top 10, you are deff a favorite to win region poy. Its been Trinity or Ballard in 5 of the last years (with Eastern winning the region in '11). It's Male's time
Griffster Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Males guards may be their weakness. Cook is the best player in the region- but I like St Xs, Ballards and Centrals guards better- oh and Trinitys too. Guards determine who wins the 7th year after year.

Smallhoops Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Is the 7th Region POY between Cook and McKim? I think so. Both have had great seasons. Cook probably has a potentially higher future upside, but it has been a joy watching McKim in the St. X games I have seen this season. Bottom line is that they are both deserving.

It's a tough call right now, but I'd go with McKim. They both are willing their teams to victories. I told someone the other day that Male is like a Manual with Alex Cook on it. I still believe he has more to work with than Connor McKim has at St. X, because like X the players surrounding Cook can shoot, but have more athleticism and speed than X's role players. Cook is a really good college prospect, and better than McKim ceiling wise, but McKim has had to do more this year. I think Connor McKim wins.

If I picked right now, I would go with Kim. But others may go with Cook, who is also very deserving.
