February 14, 201610 yr Author @hoops5 You might want to let her know she needs to leave early in the morning. A Winter Storm Warning has just been issued for the Lexington area starting around 10 am. Looks like the storm may come in a little early but the main snow threat is still like I said last night.

February 14, 201610 yr Author Here's the latest forecast totals I see. For WKY 1-3" totals could be lower because of the possible freezing rain/ice overnight. Possible up to .25" in some parts. This could cause power outages. For the rest of Kentucky I'm seeing 3-5" mainly south of I-64. North of I-64 2-4". Parts of Kentucky from around Somerset, Mt. Vernon, Corbin, Manchester, Barbourville. 4-6" There also seems to be another area of 4-6" in the Salyersville, Paintsville, Prestonsburg, Pikeville area. The Ashland area 1-3". I'll post another update later this evening.

February 14, 201610 yr Author @hoops5 Just to let you know the road crews in the NKY area are already out patrolling the highways. Not really treating any roads as of yet. Other county road crews are on standby towards Lexington.
February 14, 201610 yr Author We may see some periods of rain tomorrow evening before it turns back to snow. But there now seems to be another system heading our way for the Tuesday/Wednesday time period. For now it looks like it will effect mostly northern and eastern Kentucky. I'll be watching it. Also the warm up by the end of the week looks to be short lived before the cold returns. Winter is not through yet.
February 14, 201610 yr Coming down in Bellevue/Newport at very nice clip now.......used my leave blower to clear the snow. Been going out every 30 minutes for the past hour and a half and it works like a charm. If you let it get go to long a leave blower is useless. I'm pretty anal about my driveway, sidewalk, steps, & cars being COMPLETELY cleared. When the snow stops falling it looks like the snow avoided falling on my property. :lol2:
