The game was at west. The FT's might have played into west's strategy.

Few more stats:

 

Conner Souder had two points for Mercer.

 

Titans were 40-of-50 (!!) from the line. Faulkner was 17-for-18.

 

Colts were 14-of-21 from the line, hit seven threes (six were from Okesson).

 

Per the KHSAA Website that would tie them for the 10th most free throws made in a game in history (though those stats are certainly incomplete)

That's a fact.

Pretty much West strategy appeared to be foul grab push ..try to get in Mercers head...with hager and faulkner out there that aint gonna work

IMO Mercer County might be just too talented for anyone to give them a serious run. However, their schedule might come back to bite them. They haven't played many close games but as I said...it might not matter.

By the way, I didn't mean that in a negative manner towards either team. But that is an astonishing number of free throws and attempts in a 32-minute game.

It was odd that a road team gets that many calls. But the west strategy explained why. Very rare on the road imo.
