January 13, 201610 yr Author Always heard it called "Kentucky Bend," never Bessie Bend. I've been the once. Pretty cool place, although in a way it was also a bit eerie. I had never heard of it until college at WKU, but the history and the feuding and the killing was an amazing story. Only heard of it then as Bessie Bend, don't recall why. It came up yesterday in a conversation, they asked me what county it fell in, and I had no idea. Thanks @lawildcat.
January 14, 201610 yr Interesting. I was aware that part of Henderson Co. was actually north of the Ohio River, but I was not aware of Kentucky Bend until I read this post.
