Inexpensive Tablets - Did They Function Well Enough For You?

 

I have a smart phone & laptop. Do I need a tablet with a lot of bells & whistles?

What are you looking to spend?

Define "tablet."

 

Are you looking for a true tablet like an iPAD? Or are you looking for something that's light, has a keyboard, and get online?

 

I bought my wife a Chromebook. Same size as the iPAD but has a keyboard. Very light. I like it better than a traditional tablet.

What do you want it to use it for?

 

I have a Kindle Fire that I'm perfectly happy with. I mainly use it to read and browse the web. Sometimes I use the Netflix or HBO apps.

 

I have another tablet with a microSD port that I keep all of my music on and that's all I use it for.

 

Just depends on what you want to use it for.

We bought 4 Kindle fires for the grandkids for Christmas . I must say that they loved them . The oldest is 7 the youngest is 3 .

Just know if you want any Google apps on a Kindle Fire you will have to root it.

I got a free LG 7 a year ago when I upgraded to an iPhone 6. It's nothing special, but it's good for web browsing, and it's where I do most of my news reading through several apps. Good for Netflix as well.

I'm still figuring out what questions to ask.

 

I guess my current thinking is the functionality (apps & web browsing) of a big-screen smart-phone, without the phone. Something that would work with wifi; that I could load with my music (maybe by syncing); a keyboard would be nice. Like I said, I'm still figuring out what I really need.

I bought my son a Nextbook from Wal-Mart a couple years back.

 

Crazy cheap. Also crazy crappy.

 

It was awful. Kindle fires are good bit just know that's it's running Android but it's not a true Android experience.
