Who can tell me more about this kid? This is the first I have heard of him, but apparently he has coach Cal's attention. Anyone have any good info on this youngster?

He can't be on an official visit. I haven't seen this kid play in person yet but I doubt he gets a scholarship offer from Kentucky.

I misread the "official" part when I was reading about him being on campus. But anyway, it was mentioned that he visited campus today on a UK premium site that has pretty solid info on recruits.

 

I know nothing about the kid to know whether he would get an offer or not. I was just passing along information and hoping to get some information on the kid. So far all I know is his name, who he plays for, and that he's rated as a 3* wing lol.

He's a good player but not a UK type player. Any kid can get into campus facilities with the right hook up and AAU programs have that. Over us summer he was at UL. You can obvious see Coach Cal was grabbed for the picture.

He will play D1 someday if he meets eligibility. Good kid with skills.

I tried to explain this when you made the same comment a few months ago in the Mason Blair thread (albeit Mason visited NAIA D2). This rule changed and in fact, January 1st of your Junior year is the earliest you can take an official visit (not saying this was an official visit - just saying you can).

If this were a true official visit, everything would be paid for by UK and there would be a 48 hour window where he would be on campus, see practice and/or a game.

 

Kentucky has never had a junior on an official visit so I doubt Jaylen is the first.

 

He is a high major player as evidenced by his offer list. However, there is a difference between high major and elite high major (Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, UNC, Michigan State, etc.)

The only obvious thing I see is him and cal posing for a picture. I don't know Cal's day to day schedule well enough to know whether he was "grabbed" or whether he met with this kid on his own.

 

If you have that kind of info, you should get rid of the purple and become a full time member.

Sebree is a 4 star recruit according to Scouts.com and yes he was on an unofficial visit to UK today and he did attend Kentucky's practice as well.

 

He has offers from Indiana, Xavier, VCU, Samford, NKU, WKU, and Manhattan. Many other looking at him. That being said, I don't see him as UK material. He is good and improving, but still has a long way to go to reach his potential. Right now he is the 3rd best player on his own team in my eyes as far as his contributions.

First of all, I'm not the one who made that comment. Second of all, I would say with 99% accuracy that this was not an "official" visit.
