No I'm not joking. Tom Herman can coach circles around Jimbo Fisher. They didn't catch FSU on a bad day, the caught FSU without Jameis Winston.

LOL... thats about all I can do. :lol2:

Well Herman has now beat Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher. Laugh all you want. I don't care. But you're the one that's wrong.

So that is what makes him the greatest in college football? GT beat FSU this year, does that make Paul Johnson a better coach than Jimbo? Ole Miss beat Alabama, does that make Hugh better than Saban? Terrible logic you're using.

Well, if you are counting wins like that, last years ball boy beat Saban and this years beat Fisher.

He is the first college football coach in his first year as a head coach to wins 14 games since Chris Peterson at Boise State in 06 and before that it was some coach over 60 years ago. Sounds pretty good to me.

That's great. Good for him. It's also his first year on a senior laden team. So if his Houston team goes 6-6 or 7-5 next year, are you still going to be hyped on him? I know he's a former Buckeye and you have your OSU glasses on, but come on, be realistic here.

It helps that they play more games in a season now. Not to mention both coaches were/are coaching in weak conferences.

I do think he did a great job.

Some would say it's even harder to come in your first year and win with seniors because they have to buy in to a completely new system, but I get what you're saying. But as long as they have Ward playing QB they'll be really good again next year. I have my biases, I won't lie. But I just truly think Herman is a top 10 coach in the country and I'm being a little cautious only saying Top 10.

Ward is an obvious play maker and really good at it. But if you listened to Herman after the game, he said "the seniors came in in January and bought in" that's the difference between coaches who takes senior led teams and win and ones who don't. Herman has made a GREAT impression in his first year. Would I call him top 10? Right now, no. He still has to prove himself and one year doesn't cut it. Could he be top 10 by the end of his career? Absolutely. Now with that being said, Herman has his guys more prepared than FSU, period and it showed.

The bottom line the better team won and they were also the better coached team.

I have to agree with this.

I thought this game exposed some of the weaknesses of FSU this season. Like less than average O-Line play, confusing play calling and inconsistency at QB. I know some of that yesterday had to do with Maguire getting hurt but as soon as they put in Constantine they had him throw 3 straight times. Uhhhhh, Dalvin Cook anyone???? I don't feel like they did enough to get him the ball and allow him to carry the team. Even when Maguire came back in they still wanted to throw the ball more than I thought they should.

I do think this FSU team reached its full potential this season and I am okay with that. I'm looking forward to seeing them next season when Deondre Francois takes over.

You think Francois gets the nod? Henry is gonna be solid.

I've seen a lot of suggestions that Henry will be redshirted unless he is just jaw dropping the moment he sets foot on campus. Primarily, he is not very big (I've seen 180 pounds), and they need to get him in a weight program. My gut says that Maguire and Francois will compete for the job. And my gut also says that they'll go with the long term talent in Francois. Maguire is not a bad quarterback, but he's also not likely to develop into an elite one at this point. I think if Maguire was the QB again, it's a red flag for Francois, because I highly doubt he would win the job over Henry in 2017 with no experience boost.

Jimbo desperately needs to find a way to avoid getting put in this situation again. I still can't figure out how it was that Ohio State manages to keep all their QBs, that Alabama manages to keep their QBs (and get one to transfer in), but Coker just couldn't bear to sit an extra year behind Winston (and hilariously found himself sitting at Alabama that year anyway). It should have been him leading FSU this year, and with him, they'd have at least had a better team. Probably don't beat Clemson, but I think they'd be sitting here 12-1. Heck, last year Coker might have even taken the job with all the stuff Winston put them through - though probably not.

The point is, Jimbo is going to have to find a way to keep Henry and Francois happy, lest he lose one to transfer and we start this whole cycle over again.

I would be on with that in terms of Francois starting and Henry red shirting. As for Coker, I was hoping he led the charge post-Winston era, instead, he's doing so at Bama. Really liked him and still do. Was a fan of DeAndre Johnson also but we saw how what he did. I think next year will be a better year but as you said, Jimbo HAS to find a way to make it work with Francois and Henry.
