Not if they think that you are a Christian. If they do, I would say that is their way of saying they hope that you enjoy a religious holiday that is special to you.

 

A friend of mine is going to a Christmas Eve dinner that is being given by a Hindu couple that he and his wife know. My friend is Jewish. However, the Hindu couple wanted their whole group of friends and family to celebrate a religious holiday that is special to many of their Christian friends.

I thought it was awesome. However, there was nothing about me that would indicate that I was a Christian (although I did say "thank you" while they were making up the subs). I didn't have my @Run To State Second Amendment rights or my "It's Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays, stupid" shirts on either!:lol2: I thanked them, but I wished I would have gone further and wished them a belated Happy Diwali.

No it doesn't. And I'm not pushy about it nor will I ever force a conversation or my beliefs on anyone who doesn't want to or engage in one, but I will share when asked. That is our duty as Christians. If someone claimed they were offended by my saying Merry Christmas I would apologize to them. That will not deter me from continuing to do so.

Of course, that line of thinking about it is totally illogical, considering X in Greek means "Chi," short for "Christ." It's just an abbreviation and has nothing to do with "taking Christ out of Christmas."

I say it either way. It doesn't bother me, if someone wishes me Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, I wish it back to them.

If talking with a customer I will say something like You have a good holiday, or happy holidays unless I know they won't be offended by me saying have a merry Christmas. In my personal life I almost always say merry Christmas.

After all Christ has done for me, being that he is my lord, my savior, giving his life so that I may live, I feel compelled to give him the respect he deserves by using his full name on his birthday. JMO. It's only one of the greatest days in the history of mankind. Making lite of it is just silly.
