I agree with JJ and G that I don't get why only one side of a double headed mistake gets to decide if the child lives or not.

 

Not sure of the statistics but I'd be willing to bet that most women that get an abortion are not in a committed relationship with the "father" and do not want to raise a child alone. You just don't hear of many situations where the male steps up and wants to keep a child, especially if it was the result of a one night stand.

 

As far as prostitution goes, if it is legalized it would need to be closely regulated for safety sake for both parties.

Human Trafficking is a MUCH bigger problem than most people realize, maybe legalizing prostitution and and cracking down harder on what would be left as illegal prostitution would be a good first step.

For starters, that's assuming that all unplanned pregnancies arise out of unprotected sex. I'm sure most do, but certainly not all. Nevertheless, you posted that a man should take ownership for his own actions.

 

The action that he must take ownership of is the sex itself (and resulting pregnancy). If the man doesn't have a choice in whether to keep/abort the baby, how can he take ownership for his actions?

I'll say this, if my son or daughter were in a situation where an abortion was used...I would be devastated. I would take on raising the child no questions asked and no support needed, knowing that a grandchild was aborted would just be devastating for both my wife and myself.
