Ravens work out Ryan Mallett

Featured Replies

The Ravens lost starting quarterback Joe Flaccofor the season to a torn ACL last month. In exploring Mallett, the team could be thinking about adding an arm for next spring and summer while Flacco recovers. In the meantime, veteran Matt Schaub is the team’s starting quarterback.

The Ravens claimed Jimmy Clausen last week to be Schaub’s backup.

Mallet has the physical tools, so I don't blame them for at least giving him a shot. But by all accounts, he's a turd, so I don't see this going anywhere.

The Ravens are 4 and 7 and still have to play Seattle, KC, Pittsburgh, and the Bengals.

I am assuming they have a shot at the Fins.

Either way, why bring aboard someone like Mallett when this season is a wash?

Loss, Loss, Loss, and a toss up.

Loss, Loss, Loss, and a toss up.

I like how you think the Ravens will lose to 3 teams the Bengals have already beaten, then consider the Bengals game a toss up. Welcome to BGP, hope you stick around long enough to justify this post in several months.

I'd say wishful thinking and he's not signed yet right?

He didn't say which ones were guaranteed losses. If he meant the Bengals then I would also like to see his reasoning. So far the Bengals only real weakness has been themselves with penalties and injuries.

I took it as @BEENTHERE_DONETHAT responded in order to @theguru's post: Seattle (loss), Kansas City (loss), Pittsburgh (loss) and Cincinnati (toss up). Perhaps I misunderstood -- @BEENTHERE_DONETHAT?

Understandably so. I just like to give folks the benefit of the doubt when I don't know jack about them. I'm an optimist, sometimes....

Certainly a more popular thread than I thought it would be.

Paging Ray Lewis...uhh, Ray Rice....I'm guessing this organization can demonstrate a history of questionable personal behavior types as long as they can ball...

Ray Lewis was just too good to let go and that was before there was the big push to dump players.

The video got Ray Rice and he was already on the team.

Mallett isn't already on the team nor is he that good, doesn't make sense to me unless the Ravens flat out don't care as long as the court of public opinion isn't too loud.

Just win baby!

In his defense, hopefully the Bengals have the 1 or 2 seed locked up and will be resting everyone for this game.
