Montana Grille (High end, GREAT Ribs)

Hiiligans (Bar)

Puerto Vallerta (Mexican, Scottsville Rd location is better)

El Mazatlan (Mexican, Nashville Rd location is better)

Corner Bakery (Panera Bread on steroids)

Roosters (Wings are HUGE)

Toots (Wings)

440 Main (High end restaurant, downtown)

Buckhead Cafe (Quick dining cafe)

Cheddar's (Casual)

Mancino's (Pizza, Sandwhiches, Pasta)

Lost River Pizza Co. (Best pizza in town IMO)

Griffs (Great, local, fast deli, I suggest chipotle chicken sandwich)

643 (Has the only "Beer Wall" in Kentucky)

 

Great list too. Although I much prefer Mellow Mushroom for Pizza.

#1 Seed Double Dogs

Steakhouse:

#1 Seed Montana Grille (This is a super great place, it's a little upscale, but it is awesome. You will not regret going there)

#2 Seed Longhorn

 

Overall variety:

#1 Seed Rafferty's (This is a great place owned by the same people who own Montana Grill)

#2 Seed Mariahs (It is located downtown. Just has variety of stuff. And free bread)

 

Local Owned casual place:

 

#1 Seed Griff's (Have not known one person who regretted going here)

#2 Seed Home Cafe

#3 Seed Judy's Castle (Mainly just for Breakfast on Friday or Saturday)

 

Small bar/food place:

#1 White Squirrel Brewery (It's different)

#2 440 Main/Mickies on Main

I just wanted to add that Double Dogs is also operated by the same company that operates Rafferty's and Montana Grill.

Toot's Sports Bar - The best wings I have ever had, sort of a cross between Hooters and BBW but with better wings. Saturday I plan to have wings and oysters on the half while watching WKU

We also enjoyed The Wild Egg for breakfast/brunch. It was very good!

I was living in BG back when Toots' first opened. The owners wanted it to be a Hooters franchise, but the local powers that be freaked TFO over the idea of scantily-clad women serving up wings (despite the fact that Uncle Sam's still operated in those days, as well as that massage parlor over across the railroad tracks, but anyway). Toots' was their compromise.

 

This was back in the early 90s, when any time a bar got too popular with the student crowd, it soon got summarily shut down and the party went elsewhere.

Save your time and money and pass on 643 and Mariahs.
