In all seriousness yes it is a bad matchup when you look at the size difference in trenches. We are going to lose if we don't keep the big plays to a minimum. With that being said I could make an argument that their back end of their defense will be at a disadvantage if Morris and Ogbagu play their A game. I can also make the argument that accounting for Jones and Thompson will be a big problem if they make it to the 2nd level.

 

Key to the game for me is can we give our QB time to find our skill guys, and can Jaylen and Andy make it to the 2nd level in the run game? With Bently and Horton that's a tough tough task.

 

Side note why isn't Mark Stoops beating the door down to lock those 2 up. That's a package deal

UK has been recruiting both, but no offers yet.

 

Horton has been to several UK Games, to Ohio State, and WVU. Bentley has been to UK and Florida among many others.

 

You can't teach Bentley's size and subsequent footwork for being that size. If he puts in a strong summer working more on that aspect and his combine measurables I think you will see some offers happen.

 

Horton is simply a special talent. I have been following football in EKY for 20+ years and he is the most dominant D-Linemen to ever come out of EKY and that includes Jeremy Caudill who had a cup of tea in the NFL. Ray's biggets issue right now is he is a "tweener" at his height. He also hasn't turned in sparkling 40 times, though anyone that has watched him knows his football speed is special on the field.

 

If Horton can have another impressive showing in Bowling Green and can put in the work in the off season like Bentley to improve those "football drills without pads" ( to that) I honestly would not be surprised to see him absolutely blow up like a Kash Daniel. For goodness sakes he took on a future 5* Linemen this year heading to Tennessee that Saban offered and flat WORE HIM OUT.

 

The other elephant in the room though is they are kids from EKY... this has hurt a lot of kids that I feel could have played on the next level, not just from Belfry, but the entire region.

If I was the Head Coach at Marshall or a MAC school I would be camping out at Belfry and reminding them every day that I have offered them a full ride and that I will be happy to schedule all the teams that don't so they can show them.

 

Not to make this a drum circle passing a peace pipe... but I also would be all over Ogbogu and Jones for LexCath.

 

I am telling you..if Jones played at a school that would give him 20 carries a game he would be a 2000 yard back. Great size, great speed.

 

Ogbogu is one of the crispest route runners in Kentucky. He's the kind of guy you see go to WKU and start four years and come back and beat UK with 8 catches for 92 yards and 2 TD.

The Knights are often outsized in terms of height and weight on the line. The do work on technique to address it.
