Very pleased with what I saw from Boyle County today. Very pleased.

Boyle County looked very good. They will be tough to handle come tournament time. Yet again, the 12th Region is flat out loaded this season. Was very impressed with the Elkins kid and all the dunks he had! Some college will get a great player as that kid is definitely D1. Look forward to making the trip to Boyle County in a few weeks!!

Pike Central looked good. They played hard and fast the whole game. They will be tough.

Did Dixon play?

Montrell Dixson moved to Illinois two weeks ago and enrolled in school there. He will not play at Pike Central this season.

Funny thing is, Illinois has a rule that if you have practiced with a team you must sit 365 days (Dixson was eligible for Pike Central and practiced with them, thus not eligible in Illinois). Dixson is not eligible in WV due to the one transfer a career rule (used his to move from Thomas Nelson to Mingo Central going into his junior year). Dixson inquired about returning to Pike Central (where he is eligible and Coach said thanks but no thanks after what just transpired).

 

Point: Kid knocked himself out of being able to play in 3 states. Wonder what his future holds now?

On a side note, Pike Central looked fine without him compared to other 15th Region competition. They will have a chance at Rupp this year for sure.
