Male vs Trinity was the state title game, I have seen alot of HS football in Kentucky and Trinity/ Male 2015 are two of the most talented teams playing in the same year I have had the pleasure to watch. This is no knock on the other teams(all 3 are playing very good football) left but Male is at least 25 point favorite against any team left in 6A.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a Merry Christmas. That's why they play the game. It was a great game on a terrible field that both teams had to combat. You forget that SK's kicker missed an XP too. SK came out on top.

This is the third season (1st = non-district and 2nd = district). It does not matter what happened in the first two seasons, the 6 teams that go 5-0 in the third season (playoffs) get the big trophies, named champions and lots of bragging rights.

 

Male still is only 3-0, there are two games more to go to get the trophy, anything can happen.

Anything can happen has not been the case in 6A football, Trinity, St. X and Male have been the dominant programs for a long time. The only year one of them didnt win the 6A title since 2000 was when a great Scott Count team won it few years ago. The Male/Trinity teams this year are great teams so history tells us the odds of anything happening in 6A football are very slim.

Not sure why we, NKY, are not wanting all NKY teams to win. I understand how everyone can root all year against SK due to a couple posters, but year end... I want every class won by a nky team. So, finish the job SK.

I'm not confusing anything. Apparently you may be. I am talking about underdogs in general. It doesn't matter what level you are at. Whether it's peewee, high school, college, or the NFL. Florida Atlantic almost beat 9-1 Eighth ranked Florida today. I'm sure the FAU players believed that they could win in some facet. Any level at any age is big boy football. I dare you to tell me that my 11 year old doesn't believe that he can win the game every time he steps on the field whether he's playing the best team in the league or not.

I know a lot of people said that when mayfield hosted and beat beechwood in the semi's in 2011, ( I think that was the year) and then proceeded to get thumped by hazard I BG! Just sayin ,,,,

You make a good point that underdogs do have to believe and I would say most High school teams that have some talent believe they can win any game, which they should,but when the talent disparity is great it makes it very difficult to accomplish.

If you watched Male or Trinity this year you would have to be impressed with how much talent was on the field for each team.

Oh I have seen video replays of games. I am not naive to think that those are not the best 2 6A football teams in the state. I was very impressed. No doubt. My argument is that Underdogs can win and believe a lot of times that they can. Whether they do or not is a different story. I have cheered for the underdogs my whole life and will continue to do so.
