2015 District Coaches and Players of the Year

Featured Replies

Just a few mentions for housekeeping.

A. KFCA memebers only vote in this by district.

B. You can't vote for yourself or your players.

C. Sometimes there is an agenda involved where certain coaches have a grudge against someone and they vote on whatever they value at that time and when only 4 people vote on something you get what you get.

D. Every person on this list is either a good coach or a good player.

E. Coaching a very talented team full of egos or coaching a program to stay elite is a different skill than rebuilding but it is not easier. Most fans do not realize this and most of the state coaches don't either because they have never been there so they don't know.

Very true Iam4thecats. Well said.

Brett Slusher was the only choice in 1a district 4. These things are so random and I really don't like the message it sends, but at every level of sports we have to declare a "best" or "greatest".

idk!

Fix

Might wanna look at team. Tougher the teams better he played. NB over 400 total yards 2 passing 3 rushing. S.O. Over 300 total yds 1 passing 1 rushing. Fairdale 400 plus 3 TDs. I get your point but you can't take away this kids performance based on schedule or team records. Not golf or tennis. I'm a little bias here I coached this kid in baseball and know what he did with what he had was pretty impressive! But it is what it is!

Would like to see the All District teams more so than the coaches and players of the yr in the district.

Would much rather see the All District teams more than the coaches and players of the yr in the district.

So these are district coaches and players of the year. Not everyone gets to vote and these are, for the most part, 4 (and some 3) team districts. So in some cases, you are coach of the year over 2 other candidates who may not be eligible?

I guess it is hard to argue with an undefeated record and playing for a regional crown but I am not convinced of how much coaching has actually impacted etown's season. I think perhaps a lack of coaching among their opponents, combined with amazing talent and a great 2-way, field coach in Jack Wilson has delivered this great run! IMO, some of the best coaches are the ones that do things that they should not be able to do with the pieces that they have. But again, it is difficult to argue when they're sitting on top of the region and almost state and picking up steam

I guess taking a group that was 1-10 as freshmen to playing for a regional title as seniors is not coaching in your eyes? Wilson is a good player but far from the only thing that makes that team go.

One of the most ignorant things I've ever read on here.

Would much rather see the All District teams more than the coaches and players of the yr in the district.

Yea. Kinda silly to release those first.
