KY Colonels Schedule

He's proven that time and time again. Walt does a great job getting his players looks. After that, it's up to the players and most have done well. Midland may be another animal, when you can get guys from all over coaching gets much easier. I'll ask you this, are they clearly the best team in NKY? I'm pretty sure the answer will be yes, and rightfully so.

I would say they are probably the deepest, and probably have the best pitching.

I'll agree with that. They have plenty of pitching and plenty of good players by NKY standards. How are they doing so far, record wise?

I dont know their exact record, but I would say they have lost about 7 or 8games. I didnt really keep track of them during state. I do know last week they played in a tourney up at ND, and went 5-1, and they are in Purdue this weekend and are 2-2 right now with one more game tomorrow.

Based on the teams they've played and the places they've played, I'd say that is a very good record. NKY is a small community, when you look at the areas some teams draw from. I never meant to dismiss these kids, but it's a big country when you go play the best of the best.:thumb:

Have you been at Purdue the whole time, if so got any highlights. How are they doing and who pitched ??? Do you play or have relation on the team?? I was going to make the trip to watch em, but somethings came up and couldnt make it. Thanks for any info!!!

What does the lineup look like for the Colonels? who plays where? lineup?

There is no set lineup, would be better off just telling you who plays on the team. Walt mixes that lineup dialy and during the game. Walt gives all those kids playing time for the scouts that follow the team around. About the only steady lineup on that team is the pitching staff, only because of time off between games and pitch counts. If you need what boys from what schools, that play on the team , will print it out for you.:thumb:

Well a friend told me that the batting order since the beechwood kids returned has been about the same at the top and it changes allot near the bottom........but yes i would like to know what kids play on the team and possbily where they play and usually bat in the lineup if possible

Walts does do a great job with his team. I do know that there are a few other teams that do the same with the kids to get colleges to look at their kids as well. Bluegrass Chiefs is one team that does have a few of there players going on to play college baseball as well. Kentucky Royals was one teams that has a few players going on to play ball as well. I think that this is great for Northern Ky to have summer coaches to do this for the kids. Great job by all the coaches.

Walt is one of the best you will find at getting kids recruited. 85% of his schedule is at college stadiums, not to mention all the people he knows.

I was not at Purdue, I was getting updates from my dad. My little borther plays for them. I know they finished up 3-2 there though.

Like Horshack said the lineup swithes alot, but for the most part the starters look like:

1B- Michael Smith/Josh Blesser

2B- Ricky Parrott/Chris Newman

SS- Pat Muth/Jeff Grieme

3B- Craig Shanks/Chris Curley/Scott Best

LF- Andrew Blazejewski (did I get that right KB?)

CF- Eric Sawyer

RF- Ben Keubbing (sp?)

C- Jeff Dektas/Chris Brann

OF- Kyle Oberschalke/Jimmy Ryan/Kurt Simons/Ricky Harkins/AJ Elliott

P- Chris Curley/Nathan Mutsch/Kurt Simons/Jeff Grieme/Kyle Oberschalke/ Jimmy Ryan/Josh Blesser/Scott Best/Craig Shanks/Ben Keubbing/Matt Nichols

^^ Sorry if I missed anyone, or put the wrong position.

How is Josh pitching? I heard that he could have pitched for CovCath during the Ninth Region Tournament, but Coach Krumpelbeck wouldn't let him. I am surprised that he is still playing summer baseball, as isn't he going to be the CovCath starting QB this season.

Is the below game still on for Tuesday, and who will they be playing? Is the field location, the same as where they have the Lions Festival each year?

July 4 Tue 12:00 Erlanger Lions A TBD
