Regarding play calling.

We do not KNOW what play was called. It certainly isn't always the play that was actually ran.

We also do not know if the QB made the right decision on the actual play being executed.

We talk about them not calling enough plays for the TE. My guess is the TE is an option but the QB goes to another option instead.

The pick Pat threw in the end zone was a run play. He saw something and gave a signal to the WR to run the fade. Unfortunately, it did not work.

So I question 99.99% of the people who criticize play calling. We simply do NOT know everything involved.

I can't imagine having to be a QB on a struggling team (or being their parent) in regards to social media. The crap that Pat is taking (not just normal criticism) on Twitter is unreal. Takes a lot for me to not respond to these folks. Can't even write it off as "fans." Too many personal attacks.

Really sad.

Just a Thought, and directed a no one in particular ....I keep seeing posts / comments about Stoops and if he is the man for this U,K. job .... need to change, etc..

Question - Just who in the hell do people think they want and more importantly who could U.K. get ? Not very long ago, we were seeing "Stoops Troops", all kinds of praise for the man.

Kentucky has to have Depth ! Stoops has brought in some excellent talent and the Cats are more athletic, stronger than the complete embarrassment when Stoops arrived. A lot of time and years are needed to build depth needed to compete in a major conference like the SEC, Big10, Pac12, ACC, Big12 along with others. Kentucky's first team / starting unit has improved, no question but even the starting roster isn't completely where it needs to be. All that is not to mention Depth, there is No Depth ! Again, imo it is going to takes years of good recruiting to establish depth. U.K. May never have a good football program but one thing is Certain ... U.K. will absolutely never get to where it needs to be by changing the coach every few years !

Stoops has gone from the best thing to ever walk on the football job to "is he the man for the job" in just a couple of years.

My original question ... just who in the hell does people think U.K. could get ? U.K. is not an appealing football job, face it ! My entire point is that no matter who .... give them time and that will take a helluva lot longer than four years or so to build a competitive team, let alone a good one.

O.K., I am off my "stop blaming coaches for all" soap box..... :lol2:

Dawson had a presser today. A few items:

On the two passes UK threw when they were on the 1 or 2 both were run calls that got changed to pass plays based on what Pat saw. Said the leverage was read incorrectly which means it should have stayed as a run.

Drew's pick 6 was because he didn't wait long enough to let the receiver clear into an open spot. Threw it too early.

Said he(Dawson) should have slowed tempo down near the goal line.

1 of 6 on 3rd and short.

Stoops will let go of a coach or two to take pressure off himself if anything.
