November 13, 201510 yr Government adds record $339 billion to national debt in first day after budget deal - Washington Times
November 13, 201510 yr I have asked our Liberal friends on this board more than once with no answer, "What happens when you run out of other peoples money"?
November 14, 201510 yr Author Our resident libs don't want to respond, probably because they think this is solely an Obama bashing thread. In reality it is not........but it is an indictment of an out of control Federal Govt, spearheaded by extreme over spending. Unfortunately, too many prefer the status quo.
November 14, 201510 yr This "lib" can't keep up with all the stuff I'm supposed to be outraged by. I try not to respond to things without thoughtful response. When I'm super busy, as I have been for about the last 8 months, it's hard to find the time to begin a thoughtful discourse, when I know I won't likely be able to continue the dialogue in the future.

Unfortunately Mom, there is no good answer to the question. We as a country simply are spending money WE DO NOT HAVE. Any company or household that operated like our country would be bankrupt and/or in jail for fraud. That sounds drastic but it is totally true. And I am NOT blaming the libs in congress solely for this. They are more to blame than the R's...no doubt...because the Dems don't want to even slow down spending for ANYTHING except for our self defense, which is the one thing we need to be spend on (did you see what happened in Paris last night). But the R's are very much to blame too for not fighting the Dems more on this. They talk a good game to get elected but when the chips are on the line, have caved due to media pressure. Nobody wants to be seen as saying NO to any spending project - if you do, the media calls you all kinds of names - racist, sexist, etc... So here we are - $20 trillion in debt. Keep in mind in 2008, Obama, when running for President the first time, actually called George Bush "UNAMERICAN" for allowing the national debt to get to $8 trillion. I have seen the news clip...he did say that. What would he call himself now??
November 14, 201510 yr There is really one main divide between left and right. Forget social issues and foreign policy. The one main difference between a fiscal conservative and some who follows the Keynseian economic model. Someone fiscally conservative believes government has no money, all money is of the people and the government has no inherent right to my money . The left feels they have an unlimited right to other people's money. It really comes down to your definition of freedom. Are you truly free if the government has an unlimited right to take your money and give it to someone else.
