November 7, 201510 yr I'm going to ask all of you big UK football fans. Would you make a straight coaching trade with Georgia. Richt for Stoops. The UGA fan base wants him out, but he is a consistent winner and will get you 8,9,or 10 wins a year and you always have a decent shot at an SEC Championship but you have a habit of never winning the big games. Or you could keep Stoops and let him continue to bring in top recruiting classes and wait and see what he can do with 4-5 years of getting his recruits. But you have to live with the 6 win seasons right now because with the good recruiting classes he brings in, you have the potential. Basically, do you want a guaranteed 9 win season but never really anything beyond that, or do you want the potential to win an SEC champ, but you have to deal with a 6 win season right now. Obviously I am speaking straight hypotheticals, and while I'm not a die-hard UK football fan like some of you all, I think I would make the trade.
November 7, 201510 yr I'd make that trade ASAP! I like Stoops but Richt is a much more proven head coach and I would be very content with 8-4 to 10-2 seasons every year.
November 7, 201510 yr Author I figured it would lean more Richts way. Honestly I almost talked myself out of posting the thread because when I was thinking about what's Stoops brings to the argument I was like recruiting, recruiting, recruiting... Oh that's about it.
November 8, 201510 yr Id like to trade most of our roster for their roster. Not always about the coach, unless it's Joker of course.
November 8, 201510 yr Considering Richt has only been a HC at Georgia, I am not sure, who to take. Coaching at what some consider a legendary program, in a football crazy state, a state that had over 225 D1 high school football players last years class alone(KY had 28), and all the resources you could ever need or want. You should have 8 or more wins every year and maybe just once you should play for the national championship in 15 years.
November 8, 201510 yr I've been a critic of Richt for many years. He seems to do less with more than any coach in the SEC, and maybe any coach in the country. With that said, I'd take him over Stoops if given the opportunity.
November 8, 201510 yr I get that people bash Richt because he hasn't won a National Title...but that's the only thing he hasn't done. 142-51 record since 2001 at UGA 2 SEC Titles 6 SEC East Titles 2-1 in BCS Bowl Games 7 Top 10 finishes 9 10 win seasons Has 73.6 winning percentage (Vince Dooley 71.5) Probably less than a handful of Active Coaches with that type of success over the last 15 seasons.
November 8, 201510 yr Its comical pretending that its the coach winning games at Georgia and just bringing him here will be the same here. Comedy gold.
