November 2, 201510 yr Kobe Bryant says "I'm the 200th best player in the league right now. I freaking suck." Kobe Bryant does not have a positive evaluation of his performance. Kobe Bryant is in his 20th season in the NBA, all with the Los Angeles Lakers. He is the first guard to ever hit that 20 season mark, just another example of Bryant making history. However, what should be a celebration of the time and memories Kobe has given Lakers fans, the fond farewell tour he said he never wanted, has taken a sharp turn off of a cliff. The numbers are ugly. The 37-year old is hitting just 31.4% of his 17(!!!) field goal attempts per-game. Bryant is also knocking down just 2 of the 9.7 three point attempts he is averaging, with just 1.7 assists against 1.3 turnovers. The advanced numbers don't paint a prettier picture, the Lakers' Net Rating with Bryant on the floor is -18.5 versus -4.9 when he is on the bench. Bryant and Lakers head coach Byron Scott vowed to cut back on Kobe's usage headed into the season, but for the 27.5 minutes Bryant is on the floor, 30.1% of Lakers' possessions are ending with a Kobe shot, assist, or turnover, which given his efficiency is far from ideal.
November 2, 201510 yr Author I'd like to see Kobe have a hot stretch so we can see one last flash of Kobe of old!
November 2, 201510 yr Watching Kobe this season is brutal. I pray he walks away after this season. He can't keep up. He's an offensive and defensive liability and you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Teams don't have to double team him anymore so when he gets the ball he is only guarded by one person. His brain and mentality won't allow him to not take that shot after scoring on double and triple teams his whole career. Byron Scott needs to find ways to make scoring the ball easier for Kobe and Byron is also going to have to have that fight with Kobe and get him off the court. Kobe shouldn't be playing more than 25 minutes a game.
November 2, 201510 yr He's shooting to many 3's. Like to see move to elbow or wing post ups like Jordan did late in his career.
November 2, 201510 yr He's shooting to many 3's. Like to see move to elbow or wing post ups like Jordan did late in his career. He's too old and slow to beat defenders there to get a good look. :lol2: I feel sorry for the old bastard.
November 2, 201510 yr He's too old and slow to beat defenders there to get a good look. :lol2: I feel sorry for the old bastard. High post elbow post up doesn't require speed. Just strength and being crafty. I don't think there are many two guards in the NBA that could guard Kobe there. This coming from a Kobe hater. He's just settling.

November 3, 201510 yr He'll get there. I don't think Kobe has another year in him, but if he can limit his minutes (big IF) and learn to take on a slightly different role, I think this year will be manageable for him.

November 4, 201510 yr Harder to watch Kobe or Manning? Kobe by far. Manning looked good on Sunday and his team is winning. Kobe hasn't looked good yet and seems to be getting worse every game. Kobe's team sucks too. It'd be easier to take if the team was any good but they suck and he sucks so it all sucks.
November 5, 201510 yr Great shooters work out of slumps by getting more shots up. I think Kobe needs to shoot more. :thumb:
