St. Xavier 17 DeSales 14 (JV)

Featured Replies

A pick-six is the difference as the Tigers get revenge for last year's loss.

Thanks for posting DD.

Do you know the record for either team and/or who each team and who may have beaten either of them?

I am hoping DeSales can continue to play with its larger LouisvilleCatholic brothers, makes for fun rivalries.

That was DeSales' first JV loss in either 3 or 4 seasons, including a victory over X last year. They are either 5-1 or 6-1, with good victories over Central and Fern Creek. I don't know X's record, although a friend with a son on the JV team there said that Trinity beat them handily.

Agree Bert and thanks DD. That is really saying something for the DeSales program, love it!

They had St X on the varsity schedule three years ago, but Thomas Nelson got added to DeSales' district, which added a mandatory game. They couldn't find a date that worked for both teams to reschedule. Rumor has it they are going to try to work it out next year for X to come to the Colts' new stadium for a varsity game. Strictly a rumor at this point, but I would love to see it.

My only advice to the powers that be at DeSales is make sure you are ready for it when you take that BIG step up.

I will add, don't use Central for comparison purposes, make sure your team/program is ready.

I'm betting DeSales will be ready. Quick question... Is tuition the same at X, T, and DeSales? As Trinity and X continue to load up on rec league players- DeSales can bring in some talented CSAA kids who want to play and get a great education. Their rabid fan base had me sold on their future long ago.

The JV Tigers lost three games this year:

Cincinnati Moeller

Trinity

Male

This was a very enjoyable game to watch. Last year, DeSales was competitive at the JV and Freshmen levels with St Xavier. This game was close. I will be in the stands Thursday when the Freshmen squads play.

DeSales has a quality qb enrolling as a Freshman this coming year. Played youth league at Derby City who just won their League Championship over the Shively Seminols, Trey McCoy

If you are going to lose on the JV level you can't get too upset about any of those losses. Thanks for adding to the thread LTR.

Not bad losses, just need the margin to be smaller against T.

As far as St. X playing Desales at the varsity level, I am not sure it is a good idea. St. X would have very little to gain with a win, but would have a lot to lose with a loss.
