St. Xavier 17 DeSales 14 (JV)

As far as St. X playing Desales at the varsity level, I am not sure it is a good idea. St. X would have very little to gain with a win, but would have a lot to lose with a loss.

Similar to playing Central, but X use to play DeSales on a regular basis and they were usually competitive games.

No doubt in my mind that if the Desales/st. X series would have happened two years ago Desales would have had won. We wanted to play them so badly.

I'm betting DeSales will be ready. Quick question... Is tuition the same at X, T, and DeSales? As Trinity and X continue to load up on rec league players- DeSales can bring in some talented CSAA kids who want to play and get a great education. Their rabid fan base had me sold on their future long ago.

Please define rec league players?

Can we start with your best player? I feel it's Damon Lowe. Didn't he go to Our Lady of Lyndon? Let's not play this game... Playmakers at T are recruited to play there. It's a fact. Great for them/

This is a X/DeSales, please do not bring up another team and their players that have nothing to do with the thread.

Then don't bring up central...Long Time.

DT Connor Foos & Center Bryant Colvin played w/ Damon Lowe at Lyndon, still don't understand what your getting at w/ that comment... On with the thread I guess

Recruited??? Maybe, just maybe these kids wanted to play together in HS, ever thought of that?? I'm sure you didn't.. Smh

Well, see my comment about actually advances the thread because it was mentioned that playing DeSales is a lose, lose situation for the Tigers. So I used Central as a similar opponent on the Tigers' current schedule that is also a lose, lose situation for the Tigers.

Also, I would understand you bring up players from the school not mentioned in the title of this thread if it was the week of the "Big Game", but it's not. Unless you of evidence to support your opinion that is all it is, just your opinion.

DeSales has a quality qb enrolling as a Freshman this coming year. Played youth league at Derby City who just won their League Championship over the Shively Seminols, Trey McCoy

Thanks for the info, Jo-Jo. I hope the young man has an opportunity to play for the Colts. Had the pleasure of Coaching against Derby City and the Seminoles past few years. So much talent in both programs right now and the Coaches really 'GET IT'. From what I've seen, this is a positive environment with great role models/coaches. Again, only talking about my experiemces. The Seminoles had my team down by a few TD'S with the opportunity to run up the score and called off the dogs - you don't see that very often in the youth leagues.

Too many people would rather talk about "Our Lady of Lyndon" and bash schools for opening the doors to different walks of faith or kids playing in inner city leagues. Bottom line, if a kid has a dream to play for a 23 time State Champion like Trinity or back-to-back state champ like DeSales, who are we to judge? Appreciate you sharing the info regarding the young QB.

This was a very enjoyable game to watch. Last year, DeSales was competitive at the JV and Freshmen levels with St Xavier. This game was close. I will be in the stands Thursday when the Freshmen squads play.

Just to be clear, DeSales won the JV game last year. The transition to being able to beat them at the Varsity level is a jump, but you only get better by playing better teams.
