Jaden Jackson is a very talented RB for Cooper but he is not as explosive as TCA. You do not have the big play making ability but you do have more of a 4-5 yards a carry, cloud of dust mentality with Jackson. He is a big kid with decent speed but has good vision and will keep the chains moving

How many yards did he have the other night? Its good that Cooper has a good running game to fall back on. Conner really shut down the passing game of Cooper. Does anyone know the rushing and passing stats from Saturday?

Cooper 225 rushing/24 passing

Conner 34/110

 

Jaden had 164 rushing yards 1 TD, Schlarman has 51 yards rushing, Brown 11 yards rushing 1 TD. Jaden does have good vision and decent speed but I think lacks a little in the rapid acceleration that TCA brings. Overall a good RB and I think he and Schlarman did a good job running last night.

Jaden did a great job Sat night and #51 did a nice job filling in for Watson.

It's tough to say although they have won the last 3 games without him and that is including the game against Ryle. TCA last year led NKY in rushing yards. He started off this year with around a 200 yard rushing game against Highlands, he has been hurt most of the year with a dislocated collar bone and then the game he gets healthy for he goes out the next game on the 3rd play of the game with his current injury. So it's really tough to say how much better Cooper would be with a healthy TCA because they really haven't had a healthy TCA for most of the season.

 

I will say his backup is pretty good too. In the rain and mud the other night J Jackson still managed around 164 yards rushing.

 

The last 3 games J Jackson rushed for the following

Ryle 48 yds for a 2.2 yd per rush avg

Boone 118 for a 5.4 yd per rush avg

Conner 164 for a 5.1 yd per rush

 

J Jackson has been a great backup for TCA but something TCA always gave you was the ability to break a long one every chance he touched the ball. That can't be replaced.

This kid seems to be made of glass, he was out a lot of last season against the big boys as well. SK, Dixie, CC, last year TCA ran for next to nothing against those teams. Copper is just as good without him playing, IMO.

No dog in this fight whatsoever and I only watched the 2nd half. I thought Conner outplayed Cooper. Cooper was saved by a bad pass interference call on the final drive. I also thought the refs let players, mainly from Cooper but I'm sure both sides were guilty of it, "chat" a bit too much throughout the game. I would like to see these teams meet again in the playoffs under decent conditions. Cooper seemed to be able to run the ball better, so I would expect them to win due to that fact. Conner needs to develop a run game to make a run deep in the playoffs, imo

Didn't see Conner outplay Cooper at all. Conner was down 12-0 most of the game, had a few good plays to get them points.

I don't think it was that bad of a pass interference call, at least no worse than the one called on Cooper in the first half. Any time you stick your hands up close to the offenders face without turning to look for the ball it will be called every time. With that being said, it seemed like Cooper went up 12-0 and kind of coasted until they lost the lead. I think it will be a pretty good game, like this past one, if they meet again. I look forward to the meeting if they both make it past the first round.

He most certainly did not, his last regular season game of 1 yard against Dixie dropped him to second. I'm not impressed when a player runs for huge yardage against very weak teams, I.E. Cooper's last season early sch. Glass I say.

Actually he did lead NKY in rushing. The Dixie game he played like the first series and then a lot of starters were pulled for 2nd stringers due to it being the last game of the season and district seedlings were already determined and out was a meaningless game. Not sure what injury he got. He has been hurt 2 years as he has played some varsity since a freshman. He broke his leg in the last game of the year against Dixie as a sophomore. He came back last year and led the area in rushing yds. This year he got injured.

 

I know you don't like facts but there they are.

 

Now what I find entertaining is any SK fan talking trash about any other teams schedule. SK has notoriously been known until this year as playing nothing but cupcakes most of their seasons.

 

Let's compare schedules last year shall we? Cooper's opponents last year had a combined 98 wins. How many did SK's have? I can answer that for you. 84.
