I quit playing NBA cash games on Fanduel because of that. It's been like that for the last 6 or 8 weeks. I've actually been doing better on Draft Kings and am playing more over there. I haven't been seeing the stupid high scores and the way pricing is set up over there, it keeps the lineups in better balance. I like the way lineups are constructed, and that you don't have to play two at each position. You get 1 CTR, SG, PG, PF, SF and then a flex G, F and a utility player that can be any position. It results in more variety in lineups and spreads ownership out.

 

If things don't turn around soon on FD, I won't play any NBA except for our group. Right now, I'm just throwing money away, a couple bucks at a time.

 

So 24 hours after I post this, the Fanduel gods show me some mercy and give me a nice win. Guess I'll stick around now and continue throwing some money at GPP's.

I was sitting in second place right up until the end. I survived a couple guys who had Westbrook, who had two late turnovers and then got pulled late after he got his triple double. The four guys who moved ahead of me had Gay and Tristan Thompson in the last game to finish. This was a single entry $2 GPP, (about 8100 entries)which is all I play anymore. Not a big fan of multiple entry....the top payouts are less, but they are smaller contests and you see less random lineups which I think makes it easier to cash..at least relatively speaking.

I agree that FD should tighten up more than a few salaries. No way you should be able to see lineups all 35+.

I busted my account a month ago, only been playing free rolls. Finished 22ND out of 55K. Won $3. Now back up to $9. Think the free roll games let me improve my lineup structure thinking.

There's definitely some game theory involved in these games. The more people you are playing against, the more you need a contrarian play to hit for you. The problem I have with NBA is the sheer randomness. Guys getting in early foul trouble (especially a big that you've payed up for) and blowouts have been the two things that have hurt me the most. That being said I had a real nice win last week and finished top 50 last night in the single entry GPP that I play every night. So my bankroll is in pretty good shape. I'm staying light on NBA play though, and trying to save up for baseball season.

I haven't played many of the late slates. I do prefer the medium sized slates 6-8 games seems to be my sweet spot. I'm only playing single entry GPP games although on nights where I like my lineup I enter it into a few qualifiers for $5 and $10 games, which I manage to hit on a regular basis. I've won tickets to games in qualifiers with lineups that didn't cash. Ever since Fanduel tightened up their pricing about 3 weeks ago, I've been on a nice little roll, certainly my best of the season. I'm looking forward to baseball season, and I'll have a decent bank roll to start with.

I prefer the 6-8 game slates as well as the single entry tournaments. I've started to get comfortable with my lineup building and strategy now that the season is just about over. :no:

 

I used to play the same contests everyday. Now I am much more selective about when and how much I bet on a given day. I've started playing in 3-5 man leagues that pay out 2-3 spots also.

 

I love the NBA FanDuel games. I'll miss them.
