The best IMO and I hate them all. Going by boys numbers I don't think it changes much and seems like change just for change sake.

Ditto

5A - 43 Teams

4A - 43 Teams

3A - 43 Teams

2A - 43 Teams

1A - 44 Teams

The argument for the extra classes would say that breaking the classes down evenly is a waste of time and that the problem would still exist. If T and X have 1400 boys, how is "more fair" to have Dixie in with them with only 600 boys? The problem still exists.

If you're going to do this, you have to create the Super Class that Guru mentions. Do not do it evenly.

I'll agree with the having the Super Class .:thumb: I think it would be good for all the schools !:thumb:

Basically Ive always like the 5 class choice

What you do with the top one; either a superclass of 16 or whatever, can be decided by those in power and then split the rest evenly.

I think 16 1A teams looks silly. They are too subject to consolidations, dropping football, & travel costs are most toughest on smaller schools budgets I believe.

6 classes is just too small per class and travel factors only get more complicated.

Looks like Boyle and Allen Co Scottsville have the same number, what would be the deciding factor???

To be honest I saw that and just decided to go with the way the KHSAA had them in order. I'm assuming that presently the numbers put them in that order, versus the avg. numbers used in the division of teams in classes.

Ok, for those that want to know how I came up with these numbers I will try and enlighten you.

I went to KHSAA.org and downloaded the lastest enrollement figures by size. I then saved that to my desktop as a .pdf file or acrobat reader pdf file. I opened the file with my own version of acrobat reader, and then saved the file in .Txt formatt. I then opened Microsoft Excel (xp version), and then clicked file, and then open. In the open window I chose all files, not just excel, and then selected the saved .txt file. It then prompted me as to how I would like to import the data. I chose deliminated, using tabs and spaces as my dividers for the collumns. I was then able to minipulate the data to display only the information listed. But I was not done yet. As this llist contained ALL ky schools. I had to cross reference the schools that actually had football and eliminate the ones that didn't. I used the Reinard's scoreboard and Massey to verify that all schools were included. Not discounting those schools that are either not competing in district play or are beginning a football program. Then I went about the task of dividing the teams into the seperate classes depending on the proposal contained in the premise of the thread.

and on the 7th day he rested.
