Who lays claim as 2A's Best Defensive Team?

CAL has only allowed 106 points and have shut out their last 3 opponents

DeSales leads 2A with only 62 points allowed. They have not allowed a single team to crack the 3 TD mark

Mayfield has only allowed 98 points and if you take away the McCracken County shootout also have not allowed more than 2 TD's

Danville and Murray are no slouches...

In a Class where Defense wins Championships..who enters the playoffs best equipped to win on a cold, rainy November night when the Offense just isn't working?

How do you know it's going to be cold, or rainy, or night?

Mayfield's D is pretty nasty. Murray, who was a huge, talented team put the ball on the ground 5 times all due to being hit and hit hard. Were smaller but faster and hit harder than any D we have played IMO. Also have the best D Coordinator anywhere around in Coach Dew.

I think it goes without question that MF has the best D and DC in AA and a healthy Murray maybe 2nd

Desales and it's not close.

maybe 3rd, I've have to think on it

Maybe 5th

It's hard to judge unless you've seen every team play. I can't speak for Mayfield, but I know CAL has a pretty solid defense that is consistent every year, and I know Murray also has a good defense. As for DeSales, in 2013 we gave up 9.8 ppg, in '14 we gave up 6.1 ppg, and this year its at 7.7 ppg. The most we've given up all year is 16 points to CAL, which one of those scores was a pick six and one of their field goals was set up off a pick. The past few years I feel like we've had the best defense and I think the same for this year, but like I said, I haven't seen Mayfield play. Most of the teams at the top have solid defenses and will no doubt win one of these teams a state championship.

Take out the Simon Kenton game (probably top 3 offense in Kentucky) and CAL's defense is easily the best

Not even close, MF by a mile

Not even close, MF by a mile

What happened the McCracken game?

What happened the McCracken game?

We took a top 10 6A team to OT. What Happened in the two games where you guys were shut out?

Does CAL have more speed in the secondary than Desales?

I wasn't trying to be smart. I wanted to know what happened that game ?

Owensboro Catholic's D has only given up 123pts.

35 of those points were from 1 INT for TD and 4 Kickoff returns for TD's.
