I would've loved to seen McCracken play Owensboro September 18th instead of lift for life acadamy..... I've heard they had a tougher out of state game originally scheduled that fell through and had to scramble to get LFL...I believe Owensboro had Daviess that week.

That would be a great game Black! Do you know if there has been talk been the two schools at all? I was thinking that LFL was just a last minute fill in!

P88 yes I would, if I were OCath, schedule a big game late in the year and one mid year. I think this is the year Ocath does some damage in the playoffs. Great team, very experienced.

Owensboro scheduled Male in the Michael Bush days.

Concerning OCath, I would be interested to see if a Murray or Mayfield would schedule OCath considering they would likely have to meet in the playoffs. Just be interesting I think.

Mayfield will not play anyone in their class other than the district games mandated. That is a long standing policy dating back to the days of Jack Morris

I really think Catholic tries to schedule good competition. I mean they have been scrimmaging Henderson since the Duffy days and use to scrimmage BG as well during that time when everyone had two scrimmages. I really think they have a hard time scheduling because like Tooth said alot of schools like Mayfield, don't like to play someone in their Region or in the same class for that matter other than district. I have talked to OC coaching staff before. I understand now completely. It's hard to find a game other then week 0 or 10 because of them having to play the city games, district and for some reason the "BlueBridge Showdown" with South Spencer and you have to add a BYE week. I think adding Evansville Mater Dei and keeping a athletic North Hardin team is good next year. If you look at their schedule they only play 3 2-A schools and they are in their district next year. Brown would agree, I think if the city year in and Year out was as competitive like Owensboro and Catholic they both would have good schedules. Just my take. I promise you this. Edge not ducking nobody. He tried to get a game with Bishop Brochard in Indy back when they had Zach Martin, but they have a mileage limit. Keith Martin, Zach dad, played at OC. I also remember him trying to get a game in Birmingham, it might of been Hoover with his connection to Tony Franklin.

Can't say enough good things about Damion Carter. He probably gets over looked a lot because of Henderson Co.'s record but the kid is a work horse. Rushed for 163 & 3tds on 36carries against Daviess. Already the all time leading rusher of a program that's had ALOT of really good backs. Needs just 255 more yards on the season with at least 2 more games remaining to be the program's first 4,000 yard rusher. I like his chances.

As far as the OC schedule, I dont know why OC keeps playing South Spencer. I dont mind playing them here and there but every year for as far back as I can remember is crazy. I get that it is hard to schedule games but when you are in a district that is as terrible as what Catholic is you have to find a way to challenege yourself. When North Hardin is the 2nd or 3rd best team on your schedule then something has to change.

I would like for OC only to play OHS in the city to be honest. Then I want them to play BG, St.X, Trinity and Highlands in that order. At the end of the year after their district game play someone like Cal Poly in a Home and Away. Maybe Catholic might have to pay for Cal Poly's plane ride or their Greyhound Bus.

Now if they play that schedule I might say yea they have a good schedule, even then it wouldn't be enough for some because they might win 1-2 of those games before their district games. I mean you know football is the only sport at Owensboro Catholic. All their football players that play baseball, basketball, skeet shooting, and FFA kids show up during the spring practices and June...Sarcasm..... Their entire staff is in the building not one person is a paraprofessional. NOT ONE! More Sarcasm....Even More Sarcasm.

IF Edge had the resources like he and his family provided for the school and actually had a booster club, QB club, and had a Coach or coaches in the building then I would be upset, but when you have more softball coaches or track coaches then football coaches in the building, then their is a problem. I really don't see why he stays there. I don't. He must really like it or believes in something, but if any other coach was coaching there, they would leave the first day.

You are right Rambo, there is nothing they can do, just keep doing the same thing.

I really do want them to play a Male or Trinity.

I feel as though both teams have improved. Christian Co probably has more but simply because they had further to go. I feel as though it will be a much better game. Personally I feel as though Christian matches up with BG better than they do with Owensboro.

The Colonels just have to prove they can show up for big games and play well. So far they've been unable to do that this season. It is tough to get a win at BG any time but CCHS usually gives BG a good game in playoffs. Right now I still think BG is better team and would win but definitely not a blowout like earlier this year.

Map,

Good Assessment! I think it comes down to Christian's D for me. They have to shore up the middle of the field. I watched highlights of the first game and BG dinked and dunked in the middle of the field what appeared to be the whole game and ran between the tackle and guard alot. If you let BG do that, I'm not sure you can beat them. Plus I think the Christian County O has to be able to run some on BG. They ran some on Caldwell and have good backs, just don't know if they can sustain it.

Brown, would you know if Coach Fallin has any plans for this type schedule change. I think it would help Owensboro myself.

If your having problems with finding hard teams to play ask the AD at henderson. They have played 5 ranked teams and make it 6 when they play Owensbro. Also 4 of the 6 could make state title game if you count Owensbro.

Hey cols, do you know if Henderson County intends to keep playing the Southern Indiana squads or could there be a KY squad get in their early season schedule in the near future?

Toothpick,

This is interesting. How long ago did Jack Morris coach? Family of the current Coach Morris?

Anyway, it seems to me that this is the formula that has given Mayfield at least a piece of their success. Of course all programs can't do this, but I guess now that its established its just part of the Mayfield Machine! :thumb:

I'll be pulling for him 51, but rushing yards will be hard to find against the Red Devils. He could go for upwards of 100 but that would be on the high side I think. But the first round playoff game should be katie-bar the door!
