I think you're right. Rams pull of an "upset" in OT! I think they bring the heat and play their best ball of the year against the Tigers.

I know who I want to win this game, but am curious about the above before I make a prediction. Paintsville has an excellent team and are the obvious favorite on paper. But on the other hand, Raceland lives for games like this and is more than capable of winning this one. I am curious if they are banged up any from last weeks rivalry game though, that could be a difference maker IMO.

We have lost a player to a broken ankle, collar bone and a few players with sprains. This time of year, everyone is beat up to some extent. We find out now who can man up and play through adversity and who is going to lie down. This team has hit proverbial rock bottom. Now, can they come out this week and make a statement or will they curl up and cry? I, for one feel this team is just as talented as the last 2 years but they have yet to prove it on the field. Yes, they are a different style but equally talented. Now, it's time to show it or we will be done playing soon.

Are those injuries to key players? I know Raceland has some depth, but even with good depth its hard to overcome injuries to key players, especially against a team like Paintsville.

This will be far and away the most physical game that Paintsville has played and the most physical team Raceland has seen since Ashland or Lucasville. If Raceland loses Wallace though, that is a major blow. He is our only matchup with Kash Money.

Is that a Hippa violation? Haha. For my prediction I think it will be a close game, IMO if the Rams have any key players out that may be too much to overcome. Raceland always seems to take a step up in the big games though. I'm still not ready to make a prediction, this is a tough one. I'll be rooting for the Rams though, those kids need to forget about the Fairview game and focus on this one and the playoffs, which I'm sure they are. Win or lose this one, I hope Raceland heals up the injuries for the playoffs. A healthy Raceland team is certainly capable of making a deep run in the playoffs and bringing home the hardware.

Hope things turn around this week. Outside of Kane and Bailey, Things are pretty bleak in Ram Country. Not much talk, injuries could make this game VERY difficult for the Rams. At this point, I will be happy if we lose respectfully and not get ran off the field.

 

I know the boys that will be stepping into starting roles will give their all. after last week, thats about all i can ask for.

I agree that it's happened before and "Could" happen again. I am not ready to call it or predict what, at this point would definitely be considered an upset. I, as you and anyone else that hasn't been locked in a dungeon for the past 50 yrs. or so :eek:, am as big of a Raceland fan / Ram homer as you will ever find .... bar none. Having said that I am also a "realist" and although I think its possible for the Rams to get the W, there are some real concern I have.

After the L. Valley game, I thought that game was one of the better games our kids have played as far as pulling together "for One" team / one goal. Same at LCHS, They were down and didn't quit and it paid off when they got the opportunity to take a mistake by the opponent and capitalize, win the game off it. Then came the team from Westwood .... the Rams were in a rival, District contest plus coming off a bye week. No excuse for coming out flat, not responding to an opening punch in the mouth. Raceland's kids were so stinkin' over confident they expected the oppoet o lay down at the sight of them. The last time the Eagles came in here, scored right away ....it was answered, and then some by blowing the opponent off the field, on the bus and out of town. Last week the Rams were outplayed, the opponent flat out wanted it more and made it happen. Raceland didn't wake up, start plying utill the 4th qtr.- took a very late lead and then started celebrating Before the game was over and stood and watched that team drive right down in around 1 minute and score on the last play to win.

 

I don't want last week's loss to beat the Rams twice (be dwelling on last week in prep for this week)

Raceland playing at their absolute best can when at Paintsville but it's going to take that super effort and execution that goes way above anything they have done this season. Also, Paintsville has had last week off and you can bet your life they have been just laying for the Rams, especially after Raceland knocking them out in the last couple of seasons, winning in reg. season and in playoff games / region final. The Tigers all everything QB, who I believe is one of the best football players in the state regardless of classification, made a statement in a newspaper article that went something like ... " I want to beat Raceland more than anyone on our schedule. Have been thinking about the Raceland game since the night we walked of the field last season, losing at Raceland in region finals"

I am just not sure that these Rams payers will work as hard as it' going to take this week, be focused like they've never been before and yes, "the guts inside", drive it will take. 2013, 014 Teams I KNEW Were Focused, Wanted to Win - Whatever it Took. I KNOW That our fine coaching staff will have prepared this Rams team with Exactly the Winning game plan ....A Great Game Plan is Useless .....Unless it is Execute d ! Unless it is Executed with All Out Effort, Desire and Guts to do what it takes. Should Raceland not be ready to Sacrifice Everything they have and be ALL IN, then Raceland will be All Out.

 

We Will See This Friday Night in Paintsville. Talk is Cheap - This Rams team will have to Prove It !
