I'd go Mets due to pitching.

Regardless of who wins (and I don't care), I LOVE this matchup for some reason. Two really passionate fan bases vs too cool for school Dodger fans.

One of my old roommates from BG (via Franklin) and I usually get together a couple times a year and head up to Reds games, generally v. the Buccos or the Mets. He's a Mets fan, for whatever reason — likely Strawberry/Doc.

Anyway, I've been casually needling him via text over the past week, and last night I got a classic in. About an hour before the game, I asked "Nervous?"

Had to go out to a ballgame, so I couldn't hear the phone well. Checked it and saw two messages had come in. One from MLB saying Granderson had scored the first run last night. Then a text from my buddy one minute later saying, "Nope."

I felt it important to note the ironic timing between the two messages in my follow-up to him. I'll call it a win, but he's too happy to care.

Baby bears are 7-0 vs Mets this year(granted, minus Cespedes) plus they are hotter than All Tell after a Hillary Clinton victory celebration. I'll go with the Cubbies.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Cubs have the much better offense, but the Mets have an equal advantage in pitching IMO.

I'll say Mets in 6, if for no other reason than it's the Cubs, but wouldn't be at all surprised either way.

I was all behind you here until you put that female's name in your post!! :ohbrother: Can we at least keep it out of the sports threads? :D

I like our chances for several reasons. We were able to rest our pitchers and get the rotation straight. They had to scratch and claw and wear their studs out against the Dodgers and have to start the series with their #3 starter and #4 or use one of their studs on short rest. Then come to Wrigley where we kill the ball. We're on fire and have the better manager. Our bullpen is also better. I feel like the stars are lining up right similar to when Boston finally won. But I like that everyone keeps picking against the Cubs cause "they're the Cubs." It's worked so far.

If they go to World Series, I want to see Bartman throw out first pitch with a goat by his side.

Hoping and praying for the Cubs, but I think the Mets' pitching will be too much for the young lineup the Cubs have.

The Cubs are 7-0 this year vs the Mets.. and for some reason, being a Cubs fan, that scares me.

You realize that Syndergaard is only 23 and deGrom just 27 right? It's not like they're grizzled vets.

The poll right now is 6-4 in favor of the Cubs winning, so I'm not really sure what you're talking about.
